When it comes to explaining the Internet and Net Neutrality, it's easy to run into trouble.
You may recall the Republican senator who suggested the Internet, quote... "Is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck. It's a series of tubes"... unquote.
Or another Republican senator who described Net Neutrality as "Obamacare for the Internet."
As you might be able to guess, both of these explanations are incorrect. But this issue can be complicated. I get it.
So, with the critical FCC vote on Net Neutrality coming up this Thursday, I want to take the opportunity to talk with you about why it's so important.
Can you join me for a DFA Live conference call on Tuesday, February 24, at 8pm ET / 5pm PT to discuss Net Neutrality and other hot topics on your mind? Click here to RSVP.
Net Neutrality means (DRUMROLL) treating all content on the Internet neutrally. In other words, all websites -- from major sports news, to local political blogs, to videos of a cat "showing off its chops" on the keyboard -- run at the same speed.
That's the system we have now and it has led to incredible debate and innovation. It will stay this way if the FCC votes this Thursday to protect Net Neutrality. But some Congressional Republicans and lobbyists from the Internet service providers want to rewrite the rules.
