This is why you film the cops.

Washington Parish, LA — A man’s 30-second cell phone video has helped to expose an ominously plotted conspiracy within the Louisiana “justice” system.

Two years ago, Douglas Dendinger, 47, accepted an offer of $50 to act as a process server. All he would have to do is hand an envelope containing a lawsuit alleging police brutality to Chad Cassard, a former Bogalusa police officer.

Everything went smoothly. Dendinger handed the envelope off to the former cop in front of a group of police officers and two St. Tammany prosecutors. But then Cassard blew up.

Although Dendinger's lawsuit should be a slamdunk, there should be several people who are out of a job here.

I wonder how many felonies are committed daily? I think I have a pretty good idea, based on just MY locality.

So, imagine…. and meanwhile, thankful for videographers!

is a prosecuting attorney.

A local DA can utterly destroy your life if he or she decides they don't like you, regardless of whether or not you have committed a crime.

The cops can make your life miserable as well, but they can't do the long term damage a corrupt prosecutor can.

When the two work together to screw you...well.....2 years later and he is likely still in fear of retribution by these fucking criminals.

... when "upholders" of the law, break the law, and defile every principle of common human decency by framing an innocent person? But then, Louisiana is not the exception, it exemplifies the rule. This kind of evil shit happens every single day, all over the country.

You can just assume that. If these criminals, and anyone else who doesn't have video evidence, weren't guilty, they wouldn't be in trouble,

it is what needs to happen, it is the right thing to do.

This is where the Holder should come in and say we are running this, we will do a thorough investigation and if you are guilty, you will face charges.

Until the feds start enforcing standards we will continue to see slimey, atrocious behavior like this.

I wish Mr. Dendinger and his family good luck and a safe and happy life.

Amen to that.

IMO too much power and too little accountabilty is at the root of this.

OK, I wasn't there. But the video is consistent with my experience. The process server had no dog in the fight, usually, he just wants to serve and leave, not get in a dispute. $50 isn't enough to risk your body for.

The cops do not have to follow the law, because they ARE the law.

This sort of thing happens EVERYWHERE!

The cops are as bad as the criminals that they claim to protect us from.

At this point I fear cops more than criminals. I can at least understand criminal behavior.

probably has a valid claim to some sort of post conviction relief. I'm not sure how any DA's office could afford to keep that type of liability around, but the system is so fucked that it wouldn't surprise me that the infection goes beyond just these two prosecutors.

The local authorities are afraid of them. Incidents like this are where the FBI and the Dept. of Justice would step in, investigate and prosecute. Where the frack are the Federal authorities? Are they running scared as well? Very disheartening and disturbing.
