This police officer has had 40 citizen complaints against him. Most involving excessive force and vulgar language. So far, his punishment has been a two day suspension without pay. That's it. Two of the cases were settled in lawsuits costing the city a million dollars, and the city has yet to fire this fine upstanding member of the Thin Blue Li(n)e.

According to internal affairs files released this week, 40 complaints have been lodged against Miller during his nine years on the force, nearly half from citizens who accused him of excessive force, using profane language and threatening to arrest people for no reason.
Yes, a plan to improve his performance. That is exactly what is needed in this case. Obviously this fine officer is just unfamiliar with what he can get away with. Interestingly enough the same lawyer sued the department twice over this particular individual.
The internal affairs records show Miller was disciplined just once for a citizen complaint, a two-day suspension without pay for manhandling an innocent woman in 2010.
Murray said excessive force cases can be hard to prove without corroboration and because victims often refuse to work with investigators.
Now, after being beaten to a pulp by cops, why would the victim be reluctant to work with the police? Obviously many people did try to work with police, since there were 40 complaints against this one officer. That brings the question to my mind. How many people were beaten, brutalized, or verbally threatened and did not file a complaint?
Have no fear my friends. The supervisors are currently working up a plan to address Shawn Miller's performance. I'm sure with an extra day of training, and someone wagging their finger at Miller, that he will certainly start treating people with respect and using the restraint that so far he's been unwilling to exercise.
