Sarasota Sheriff: Drunken grandparents towed child in toy car

SARASOTA COUNTY - The grandparents of a 7-year-old girl gave her a car ride Sunday, but sheriff's deputies say there were two major problems: they towed the girl in a plastic car behind their SUV, and the driver of the vehicle was drunk while they towed her.

Paul J. Berloni, 49, of the 3300 block of Clark Road East in Sarasota, is charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment and driving with a suspended license. Sheriff's deputies say he has been convicted three times prior for DUI.

Belinda Jean Berloni, 47, of the same address, faces a child endangerment charge. Deputies say the granddaughter was not injured.

We've got a cozy coup and have always wondered how we coudl get a more realistic experience out of it. *sarcasm*

Geez, these people are nuts. If it's like our car, the kids feet hang down through the middle onto the ground!!! Scary!

I hope they throw the book at them.

I cringe at what might have happened to that little girl. Shame on them.

We used to use a 4 wheel drive John Deer tractor and we had an old VW hood with about 30 ' of rope...

Get out in the snow on a big field and it was a blast for hours!

I found a youtube video, similar to this but we had a much nicer piece of machinery to pull with

Driving with a suspended license and three prior DUIs will keep him on ice for a while.
