Romney spokesman pushed out of campaign for being gay.

Jennifer Rubin: "Richard Grenell, the openly gay spokesman recently hired to sharpen the foreign policy message of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, has resigned in the wake of a full-court press by anti-gay conservatives."

"According to sources familiar with the situation, Grenell decided to resign after being kept under wraps during a time when national security issues, including the president's ad concerning Osama bin Laden, had emerged front and center in the campaign."

Given the LDS feelings about gays it would seem possible.

He would have been criticized more and more for his ridculous statements. I only saw one anti-gay attack against him and that came from a far right bigot. If there was a full court press by conservatives I certainly missed it. I saw a lot of criticisms because of his comments on women including Hillary and Rachel Maddow. Rubin no doubt would rather blame far right conservatives rather than saying the guy was an oaf. Rubin cites Dailer Caller as an example of the "press". That's a joke in itself.
