On The Chris Hayes Show Today He Interviewed A Former Florida (I Believe) Environmental Official....

This guy said that when Gov. Scott took office they were told by their superiors to stop using words like global warming, climate change, sea level rise (I think these were some of the terms as I didn't catch them all).

As I listened to this I got to thinking that Scott - then a new governor to the state probably didn't come up with this by himself. Then I made the connection of all the Repug governors around the country all kind of following the same kind of play book when it comes to cutting budgets, right to work, education, health care, etc, etc, etc.

The question that I have - is there some Repug group of individuals that is highly organized that comes into each state where a newly elected Repug governor is starting his or her term and basically providing them with a plan as to how to dismantle their state.

I live in Illinois. Bruce Rauner was just elected governor. He is a guy that has no governmental experience at all. Never held public office - yet in a short time from when he was elected he revealed his budget and plans for the state going forward and lo and behold it kind of fits in with the pattern of Wisconsin and Florida and the other states with Repug governors. I was shocked that he could have put this all together by himself this soon after he took the helm of the state. In his campaigning he never even talked about a plan.

Are the Repugs so organized that they have kind of a SWAT team that comes in after an election and puts the play book together for these newly elected Repug governors.

I don't know if I'm getting my thoughts about this out in an understandable way here - but it is almost like there is a subversive group - a separate government that is calling the shots - one state at a time. And now with what is going on in D.C. with Bibi's invite by Boehner and the Senate letter - it almost looks like there is a organized subversive grab going on right under our noses.

Has anybody here ever expressed similar premises in any of the posts here? Have you thought about this?

How organized are the Repugs that they can be on the wrong side of just about every issue, get away with borderline traitorous actions like this Senate letter to Iran and never get called on these types of actions by the MSM in any substantive way and they continue to get elected by the American People.

Tell me I'm just imagining this and making more of it than it really is.

installed and does that team put together a plan for this newly elected Repug governor. I know of ALEC as far as putting together some template legislation - but I'm talking budgets or like in the case of Florida - they were actually told not to use certain terms from then on.

in the case of Illinois - surely didn't have access to the info that he might need to put a budget together.

the same thing happened here, including climate change denial even though the Outer Banks are supposed to be underwater in ten years. My advice is to watch Wisconsin to see what's going to happen in your state next. They're all on the same game plan.

There are a bunch of think tanks that also provide this "legislative assistance." (Heartland Institute, American Enterprise Institute, George C. Marshall Institute, etc.)

ALEC is the flagship for all this stuff.

There is already much evidence that the desires of the average person has little influence on legislation.

Of the remedies available I think Wolf-PAC has the best chance to change things. It's a movement to amend the constitution to reverse the effects of the Citizens United decision by the states. It's kind of grass roots and you could join. Google it.
