CSpan.
Rubio is too ignorant to be sitting on such a powerful committee.
Marco is a stupid kid using big words to appear smarter than he will ever ever be.
Kerry set him straight on ME policy & Rubio's chair appeared much lower following the Kerry intellectual beatdown.

(9,688 posts)was this Sec. Kerry's budget presentation to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee? or something else?
I tried to Google "Kerry Rubio exchange" , and the scary thing is (and one more reminder of the importance of Dems getting their message out) that what popped out was Rubio propaganda making preposterous claims that Rubio "reduced Kerry to rubble".
As if:
To state the obvious, Rubio is completely delusional, since Kerry far outshines Rubio in experience, knowledge, and intelligence (not to mention Kerry's fantastic debate skills).
But seeing all the RW stuff did make me want to see the exchange for myself.
Can you give us a little more information?

(9,148 posts)..Rubio's turn to question Kerry came up & its was entertaining to watch Marco sit there in the camera spotlight make a bumbling fool of himself.
He should have just stayed quiet today rather than go up against Kerry.
No link for you but CSpan will probably replay this later today/night. If thats any help to you.

Kerry kept correcting Rubio's misstatements.

Senator, that actually is flat wrong also, flat wrong, Kerry said. I just came back from the meeting in the Gulf in Riyadh. I met with King Solmon who completely supported what were doing. I met with all of the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] members, they all sat around the table and they all articulated their support for what were doing and they believe we are better off trying to prevent them from getting a bomb diplomatically.. .

Kerry teaches Rubio the basics about the Middle East
03/11/15 05:04 PMUpdated 03/11/15 05:06 PM
By Steve Benen
At the recent CPAC gathering, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a likely Republican presidential candidate, seemed to stumble on one of the basic facts of the Middle East. The reason Obama hasnt put in place a military strategy to defeat ISIS is because he doesnt want to upset Iran, the Florida Republican said.
The senator seemed confused. In reality, President Obama has put an anti-ISIS military strategy in place, and thats fine with Iran, since Iran and ISIS are enemies.
Id hoped that Rubio just misspoke, or had been briefly poorly but an aide, but apparently not - -at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing this afternoon, the far-right Floridian continued to push this strange theory, pressing Secretary of State John Kerry on the point. I believe that much of our strategy with regards to ISIS is being driven by a desire not to upset Iran so they dont walk away from the negotiating table on the deal that youre working on, Rubio said. Tell me why Im wrong.
And so, Kerry told him why hes wrong.
For those who cant watch clips online, heres the heart of the exchange.
RUBIO: Well I havent discussed about the nuclear weapon but I and Im not saying there is a grand bargain what Im saying is that I believe that our military strategy towards ISIS is influenced by our desire not to cross red lines That the Iranians have
KERRY: Absolutely not in the least.
Rubio went on to insist that many of our Sunni allies in the region including Jordan and U.A.E. feel as if weve kept them in the dark about the nuclear talks with Iran, reducing our trust level in the region.
Again, Kerry had to patiently explained to the Republican, Senator, that is actually flat wrong.
Honestly, it was like watching a competent teacher trying to explain the basics of current events to a student who failed to do his homework. Andrea Mitchell said the Secretary of State took Rubio to school.
Rubio recently said hed have an important advantage in the race for the White House because he, unlike the GOP governors, has a clear view of whats happening in the world. The senator added that for governors running for president, international affairs will be a challenge, at least initially, because they dont deal with foreign policy on a daily basis.
Thats not a bad argument, though its predicated on the assumption that senators who deal with foreign policy actually have some idea what theyre talking about. This afternoon, Rubio fell far short.

Perfect . .
If we're sick of, and appalled by, these jokers, how do you think people like Kerry must feel. .I admire his stamina.

(171,070 posts)outrage the rethugs come up with, what the Prez thinks? Kerry, too. He was aghast! I was also. They never cease to amaze me at their crassness.

(9,688 posts)I would love to be a fly on the wall and listen to private conversations between Obama and Michelle, or with trusted aides, when the latest outrage erupts. Ditto conversations between Sec. Kerry and Teresa (or perhaps also with his dog Ben, who might hear a lot of venting too : )).
