Nevada capital protest closes main highway after state AG sues Obama

Protesters fighting Attorney General Adam Laxalt's decision to join a lawsuit to block President Obama's executive order halting deportation of some immigrants have shut down the main highway through Carson City.

Protesters are sitting in a crosswalk blocking traffic and chanting: "When your families are under attack, sit down and fight back."

More than 150 protesters, including a mariachi band, flooded the sidewalks in front of the Attorney General's Office. They carried signs and chanted, filling the lobby of the office and prompting the Carson City Sheriff's Office to respond.

Although protesters quickly emptied the lobby after being told Laxalt is not in Carson City, they remained in the street.

Rethug/Teabillie Party is. The single largest Ethnic Group in Nevada is Hispanics,Duh. We Caucasian's are less than 50% of the population. Laxalt is a TeaBillie and is with out a doubt one of the least qualified as a attorney to be AG. But,when you have Adelson and Wynn's money behind you,what you see is what you get. Crap.

4. Update: Laxalt apparently left the office to avoid protesters

... The protest started when all 100-plus protesters crowded into the front lobby of the attorney General’s office chanting, “Adam Laxalt, you can’t keep hiding. We the people are uniting,“ and “Keep families together.” They called for Laxalt’s deportation.

They demanded to see Laxalt in person but he wasn’t in the office. He was seen leaving in a vehicle behind the office just a few minutes before the protesters arrived.
