To all the people who say "rappers use the n word"

so why are we to blame for it? etc. etc

For them , I offer a little apllication of the golden rule. Let's have Chris Rock blatantly imiate a routine from another multi-millionaire comedian, Jeff Foxworthy.

Now, this joke has made bestselling books, T-shirts, and jeff Foxworthy wealthy, because he, being a self described "redneck" can get away with making fun of rednecks. Now, if comedians like Katt Williams, Chris Rock, or heaven forbid Dave Chapelle did this same, word for word routine, they would get KILLED>

the very same people who would have coronaries if Chris roick did a Jeff Foxworthy routine are the same people that cannot understand the difference between talking about yourself and talking about others.

is it acceptable for white people to say the word "nigga" when singing along to a song that uses that word?

And should it be acceptable for non-gay rappers to use the words "gay" or "faggot" in a derogatory fashion in a song, and for non-gay folks to say those words when singing along?

These questions are open to anyone and not just KamaAina.

A friend told me white people should not say the word "nigga" when singing along. I told him: fine, as long as he refrains from saying the word "faggot".

He does whiteface

The n word, though I don't use it, seems to have completely lost its meaning among much of the younger generation. Especially when celebrities like Kanye and Jay are giving whites a pass to say it.

Personally it's not that funny anyway, but that's just me.

Dave Chapelle otoh is funny as hell, and does mock rednecks, but if he did a whole show about it, it would be lame.

Borat does put his life on the line mocking rednecks, but then again he does it out of the normal comedy show setting and in a much more pointed, humiliating fashion.

Trying to combined a racist song to what comedians do on stage has to be a new low.

I am trying to explain to those that defend the racist song that they are idiots because if a black person dared say somethign similar, he would get plastered all over the wall.

As one of the replies pointed out, some black comedians do whiteface, but you sure have not seen Dave do as well as he did before he did that routine, have ye?

But do not say the op was trying to "combine a raicst song with what comedians do", if anythign the things was not point out that these were NOT, repeat NOT, kids just trying to be amatuer comedians, but malice.

Please be careful before you accuse.
