An exhausted young elephant was rescued from a mud pit in Southern Kenya after spending 12 hours trying to escape.
Local farmers found the distressed male elephant but were unable to help the large mammal climb out of the steep pit.
Wildlife conservationists enlisted the aid of a construction company, who used their digger to plough the elephant to safety.
