In an interview with an Israeli radio station, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said he believed that Nordic politicians did not want him to remain in office.
"Scandinavian governments have spent millions of dollars on a campaign to remove me from power," he said on the station Kol Israel.
"Western governments, but mostly Scandinavian...They know perfectly well why they prefer Buji and Livni to me," he added, referring to his opponents.
As head of the right-wing Likud party, Netanyahu faces a tough challenge from the centre and left in Israel's March 17th elections.
In a separate interview with Rega Radio he was reported to have said that "foreign governments, specifically Scandinavians, are part of a worldwide campaign to topple me", according to a translation posted on Twitter by Israeli blogger and journalist Tal Schneider.

(10,044 posts)of other countries as well. But it's not anti-Semitism, it's just that Netanyahu is so darned unlikable. Hope he loses.
Israel had a bunch of really nice prime ministers.. Hope they find their way back to the respect from the rest of the world that they have enjoyed till this man was voted into power.

(11,589 posts)Netanyahu is aware that he is not a dictator, right? I hope he is aware.
HAving said that, if he is upset about other countries trying to undermine what is supposed to be a democratic process, maybe that fool should not have come to the United States to campaign.

(16,846 posts)It's not just the Scandinavians, not only the Westerners. The whole world hates that fucker. The only people who like him are some radicals in Israel and the U.S. He doesn't even have what it takes to step down for the good of his country.
You know, people from here in Mississippi are very sensitive about how we are portrayed in the media. When we see someone from here who succeeds and becomes admired, we all love them. But when someone from here goes on tv and says or does something stupid, we all just shake our heads and say "he just had to be from Mississippi." That's how I would imagine that Israel is finally starting to feel about Netanyahu right now. He's brought nothing but shame to his country, and he seems to have no shame at all.

It is interesting, that he claim that - as Scandinavia is in fact tre nations, As the name sugest Sweden, Denmark and Norway - and if anything the tree countries have been suportive of Israel for as long as Israel have existed - even it have maybe be little more tempered after 1973 - than it was before 1973....
But then again - BIBI is little desperat now - and desperate pepole tend to trow around them claims that is less than trustworthy - even if he do not need to show any evidence about it - just a claim about it..

(31,235 posts)And his disapproval rose by 5%. http://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-approval-in-us-drops-after-congress-speech/. He brought it on himself for injecting himself in this country's politics. I have no doubt we'll continue our relationship with Israel, however, not in the same unanimous way as before. Even American Jews who have been very supportive are pissed that he would jeopardize the relationship for his own politics.
He shit his bed, and now he has to lie in it. There's a stench of desperation about him now. "Scandinavia"? Really?

We'd talked about this affront to Obama, and she didn't like it. The church she attends, like many in knee jerk fashion, had discussions on the support of Israel earlier this year.
But his visit has not at all played well with them because he left the box they hold Israel in. A vision of a place that is nowhere near what religion says it is.
She took the time to listen to him online to him when I mentioned it to her a while back, and the GOP using him politically. She said he sounded 'terribly paranoid' and 'afraid of everyone.'
She said today that she was glad to hear he might lose the election and of the blowback from the GOP letter to Iran's ayatollahs. And particularly grossed out by Cotton's going straight from getting that letter sent off to a war contract to sign on with them.
Now that he's gone off on the rails about Scandinavians, she's gonna love this!

(29,322 posts)I have know idea how Scandinavian governments view him, I don't who Buji or Livni are but I can understand why they would know why they prefer them, if they did. If he is right-wing, it easier to understand why because Nordic countries inspire jealously from me.

(50,365 posts)so he decided to finally tell the truth, something Palestinians already knew:
"Benjamin Netanyahu says no Palestinian state if he remains Israeli PM
Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged Monday that a Palestinian state will not be established if he is re-elected, as part of frantic last-minute campaigning ahead of parliamentary elections.
snip
"I think that whoever today moves to establish a Palestinian state and withdraw from territory is giving attack territory for Islamic extremists against the state of Israel," Netanyahu told nrg. "Whoever ignores that is burying his head in the sand. The left is doing that, burying its head in the sand time after time," he said.
When asked if that means a Palestinian state will not be established if he is elected, Netanyahu said "indeed.""
