(3,568 posts)Seems kind of archaic. Like 1850ish. Back when labor was needed for the farm and childhood death was common.
Why do we need "many" children today? Seriously, isn't there enough of us on the planet right now? Why not 1 or 2 instead of many?

(16,184 posts)Much more than me. I don't sufficiently hate everything connected to the last name Palin yet; after all, I did wish a couple well for their wedding.

(16,184 posts)Grr, it must be a Tea Party thing. Doesn't that guy know how much we're supposed to hate those people?!
Grr.

(4,879 posts)I must admit, I think the Palin family represents the worst of America.
I feel it unfortunate that they breed.
I have never thought weddings were events to celebrate, including my own.
By the way, I saw the SGT on Letterman. He didn't seem too bright. So sue me.

(4,879 posts)Makes me wonder who is funding the whole affair. Who is benefiting from it all.
It looks like a big publicity stunt to me. Maybe SGT. Meyer is the next Teaparty hopeful.

(3,580 posts)I remember reading an interview with Bristol after she had the baby. She was trying to make it on her own. She was working and trying to go to school. She said she wanted to go to nursing school but couldn't afford it. At the time Sarah was selling books and going on speaking tours and I thought what the hell is wrong with that woman. Why wouldn't she foot the bill for school? Was she trying to prove some kind of point? That girls didn't need an education? Or if you get pregnant you should pay a price by having you hopes and dreams crushed? Who would do that to their daughter?
