Azealia Banks really makes an ass of herself...

Talk about your brainwashed (in this case all it took was a light rinse,) idiot.

In this thread Banks makes it known in no uncertain terms she hates the US.

Seems she's also a Jesus freak.

BTW, I've heard her "music."
I've heard power saws in concrete that sounded better.

Azealia Banks: Atheism Makes No Sense Because God is Too Big to Understand

March 18, 2015 by Hemant Mehta 172 Comments

Hip-hop artist Azealia Banks (below), who is as well-known for her Twitter feuds as she is her music, is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Playboy. In the interview, she offers an… um… illuminating take on atheism:

I don’t understand how someone could be an atheist. Think about God as software, right? If you were to look at God’s face, your head would explode. Because your head is a calculator, and the amount of information that would be embedded in his face would fit only on a Google-size data center. Your head cannot handle that much information. Stop looking for God.

To translate: God makes no sense. God is too big to comprehend. Don’t look God directly in the eye. No one can understand the workings of God.

Azealia Banks is an equal oppritunity insulter who has attacked many blacks, many gays, and pretty much anyone that stands in her way. If she gets on a megaphone to make an ass of herself, she shoudl nto be surprised when people at the very least sneer. Yes, she is a black woman, who frankly has gotten rich slamming other people, including other black women.

Now, some of these beefs I agree with. Iggy Azaelia IS a fake rapper, and T.I. does deserve blame for setting that Aussie loose, but when Azealia banks has bashed everyone from Pherrel to Lil' kim to Angel Haze, and is gettign paid well for it, it is hard to be sympathetic. Apparently she has NO problem bashing black women.

Why no 2 day bash sessions on them? I've seen any number of bash janye posts, bash Azalea banks posts. When iggy went on her 'i'm the slave master' diatribe, DU defended Iggy by saying black people were being mean to her and racist. I see the pattern and ain't nobody up in here slick.

They can bash whomever they want and I'll just silently judge the bashers calling her sexist names and saying slick racist shit in the thread. Since I have actually had a long thread full of misrepresentation written and rec'd against me on here, I think I have experience with bash a black woman day on DU. After that, I just watch and see HOW they talk about other black people. Pile the fuck on like it's nobodies bussiness. Pile on pile on pile on. In a way they never do for the majority.

I marveled over it when Iggy went on a racist twitter spree and DU decided it was all black people's fault. They were the racist one for telling that racist woman 'i'm the slave master' lady, to get out if hip hop if she feels that way about us. No research from DU. I had been knew about her racism. DU still thinks Iggy is the victim.

That's music industry bullshit. I'm not saying I agree with everything she says or that I approve, but I will say, this is too much. I do not like watching large groups on predominatenly white folks sit around and bash a black woman with basically no research. She has her issues just like everyone else, however, her opinions on white folks will not hurt them in anyways throughout their life. Instead of working on the one black bigot the can find, why not work on the 20+ million white racists in this nation first? Maybe she won't have a reason to hate white people then...

Especially as banks and Nugent have one thing in common, they are both known as much for the stuff that comes out of their mouth as what they actually sing, which is sad, because whatever music is secondary, or, to cop a phrase from you, it is "music industry bullshit" where both white and black musicians with TALENT have to take a back seat to whoever plays circus freak du jour because the music industry knows that is what sells. However, while I do see your point that black artists do seem to be free targets, I do not want to allow the Azalea Banks or the Ted Nugents or any Puerto Rican (yo soy Boricua) Musician to have a free pass to attack people on what Jesse Jackson called "the master's payroll." If we allow that, we allow the music industry to be one big propaganda campaign while the talent rots.

And yes, to ensure this is an equal opportunity callout, in the list of people whop rely more on controversy than talent, I include the darling of the moment, miss "I will court celebrity boyfriends and write about the breakups while doing FAKE country" Taylor Swift! If any black artist tried doing what she did, said black artist would be forced to wear a scarlet letter.

Not having read anything about Iggy Rap, I'd kind of like to see a link to some thread where there was some sort of unanimity among white DUers or something.

But the IP group is one of the busiest on DU for no apparent reason, there are a lot of ethnic/religious conflicts in the world and yet there isn't a China/Tibet group here , or a Russia/Chechen group, or a Turkey/Cypriot group etc etc etc.

Only little Israel, a country of barely 7.2 million, gets it's own group on DU.

when there are significant political pressure groups whose sole aim is to influence US policy toward Turkey and Russia in a specifically right-wing direction? Maybe there will be. When candidates for national office in the US are routinely questioned on their position on those conflicts? Maybe there will be. But there isn't, at present. However the US does give billions in aid to Israel (more than to any other single country, in fact); there are influential lobbying organisations and political pressure groups who seek to influence US policy toward Israel; having a pro-Israel position is almost a prerequisite for anyone seeking to be elected to a national office in the US. So your whataboutery is specious nonsense.

I was very religious at the time and was totally pro Israel. She brought in documents and photos of her home being torn down for settlements. She was able to come here sponsored by a family member. Her parents ended up in Europe. I said some stupid things about the bible saying the land was for the Jews. She was livid. What about her, she says? What were her people supposed to do? Just die so they could have the land? Then there was a bombing campaign in Gaza. Then Another. She lost a few people in bombings. Then I knew I was wrong.
After that, I stopped being on any side. Just the people. The ones who suffer most get the bulk of my compassion. She told me that Palestinians are the Blacks of the middle east. Arab nations despise them. Israel despises them. USA despises them. Anything can be done to them at anytime and nobody cares. So I decided to care. Now I do. Glad to see more people are coming around to my POV.

Also, as I pointed out in another thread, any time someone criticizes Azalea Banks for any reason, someone is always sure to post something that begins with "but Iggy Azalea..." It's bizarre the lengths that people go to in this woman's defense.

There are more white racists than black people in America. Guesss who white people want to work on first? That's right, a young black woman.
Excuses are made for any and all of the unfair, racist, or targeting of minorities. But if a black person says they HATE white folks? PANDEMONIUM! Worst things ever. 1/3 of our men go to prison in this racist country and you think I should give to shits about a little bigot on playboy. I was just trying to show y'all how stupid you all look. Millions of white racists, a history of Jim Crow and slavery, racist social systems and police departments and courts and prisons, and you wonder WHY she feels that way? Really? What has white america (as a group, not individuals) DONE to be LIKED by black americans? What? Let us vote? Not without beatings, murders and water hoses! I only defend her because somebody should. Yet at the same time, any good work by any white individuals is written off as not being done collectively somehow, and any excuse made by some white people is somehow collective guilt too.

"Guess who white people want to work on first?"

We do not see defenses of such slur spouting bigots often on DU, only those who are anti gay slur merchants, anti gay clergy, anti gay politicians get that defense.
It is definitive when a person defends those who use slurs. Straight people live under the mistaken impression that their pop stars and preachers can indulge in horrific anti gay attacks and still be somehow valid sources of information and influence.
Pat Buchanan used to say David Duke had some great ideas if you just look past the racism. He was also incorrect.

Not everything in life is logical. Some things are emotional and historical. Some things are based on perception. When I see a bunch of people of the majority going on 2 day bashing sprees of a minority for words she said and saying she should leave the country, while defending the first amendment rights of the kids singing about lynching ni**** and saying they should not be expelled, it looks bad. Same group of folks. Different stance on first amendment when it comes to a black bigot as opposed to a bunch of white racists talking about killing people who look like me, I feel offended. That girl did not talk about lynching white americans like those boys did. I see NOBODY who defended those kids right to be at school after talking about lynching us and defending their first amendment rights defending hers. I watch. I see. Most of us agree that the government shouldn't be able to censor the speech of anyone, but that doesn't mean that people shouldn't be called out for their stupidity. I personally didn't see anyone defend the frat boy idiots, no matter what the debate on the legality of their expulsions. As I pointed out in another thread, I don't see it as a First Amendment issue, because they signed the university code of conduct. Debating that particular, narrow issue, though, is hardly defending them or what they said (sang, I guess).

If the racist frat boys are going to be (rightly) excoriated for their speech, though, there is no reason the racist, homophobic, and just plain hateful singer (sic) shouldn't also be called out for hers.

I absolutely defend her right to say those things. THAT is what the First Amendment is about. Her right doesn't extend to being immune from criticism.

Yep. Y'all need to cut that shit out and work on YOUR racists. Where is the white community on THEIR racism? Never bother to spends days bashing each of them on thread after thread. Nope. You all call racists 'founding fathers' and wonder why this young lady hates you all. It disgusted me to be told history in school like I should be proud of America. She talks about this all the time. How history is taught. How hard it is to move forward.

"I don’t understand how someone could be an atheist. Think about God as software, right? If you were to look at God’s face, your head would explode. Because your head is a calculator, and the amount of information that would be embedded in his face would fit only on a Google-size data center. Your head cannot handle that much information. Stop looking for God."

Well, going by that pretzel logic, atheists don't want their heads exploding. Even on accident.

So that's the outrageous quote you decided to pull from that issue of Playboy?

I could not care less what the young woman had to say in that magazine, but if I chose to compare her interview alongside what the racist pig Dick Cheney had to spew, the rantings of the war-mongering former VP might be what I'd consider a DU-worthy thread.

I don't normally ever read or pay attention to much that's published in Playboy...it's meaningless tripe not worth wasting one's time over, but the Cheney piece in next month's issue truly is something to get riled-up about.

And I'm guessing more if you go back to yesterday when it broke....

But considering we all know Cheney is an asshole and no one even remotely tries to defend what he says, those threads aren't going to draw at lot of volleys and retorts.

As famous or controversial as Ms. Banks might be, her ignorant comments about faith really mean nothing and effect no one. Move on.
