from the Toronto Star:
Rob Ford chased and confronted a Toronto Star reporter who was on public property near his home while working on a story about the mayors bid to buy adjacent parkland.
Daniel Dale was on public property; he was never on Fords property, said Toronto Star spokesman Bob Hepburn. He was following up on a story when Ford came out of his house, off his property, and cornered Daniel, yelling at him. The mayor had his fist cocked, yelling at him to drop his cellphone and tape recorder, which Daniel did.
Ford spoke to reporters outside his Etobicoke home around 10 p.m. and admitted to chasing Dale, but accused him of snapping photos outside while standing on cinder blocks.
You know, its over the top. You may not agree with my politics, dont start taking pictures of my family, Ford said of his long-standing conflict with the newspaper. My wifes home, my kids are home. ...................(more)

(8,646 posts)recoils in disgust when I see this POS on TV. The way he talks, acts etc. He thinks he's entitled and he's also a drama queen. Or, IOW, a total narcissist. I saw some contest he had with his brother on weight loss and he was a total dick to the press and his brother, even though it was supposed to be a good cause, because he didn't lose as much. He was MAD. omfg.
That reporter had every right to be there. Ford's trying to buy a piece of public land to 'protect his family' and mischaracterized the land, so the reporter was seeing if the adjacent land was what Ford had said it was. Why should Ford get to buy a piece of public land? Who else gets the chance to do that if they aren't mayor? wtf? The reporter was doing what he was supposed to do - finding what is the truth and not taking Ford's word for it.

think what the headline would be today? "Mayor have anger issues? Punches reporter".
