Interesting and very ironic post on my rignt-wing brother's Facebook page.

So a few days ago my right-wing brother posted something on Facebook about the Bin-Laden raid. It said something like thanking Obama for getting rid of Bin-Laden is like going to McDonalds and thanking Ronald for your hamburger instead of the people making it. He said you should thank the people who did the work, not the clown.

However, there is a bit of a problem. Wouldn't Obama be more like the CEO in this case, and not the mascot? So, is he unintentionally saying that CEOs don't do work and simply take credit for the work done by their employees? Perhaps, I'm reading too much into it, but I found the post rather ironic and well stupid.

8. Except Obama didn't take all of the credit.

He went to the SEAL team's HQ and specifically thanked them.

Obama is constantly thanking the troops, I don't think anyone can legitimately accuse him of not doing that.

and you should point this out...

ETA: Although I think Obama was closer to being an actual manager in this case. He didn't just specify the general strategy or goal, he actually picked out the specific action and technique he wanted.

6. As we already know, "Ronald McDonald" is a fictional character, not the CEO

of McDonalds. Furthermore, the US Navy Seals didn't take it upon themselves go after Bin Laden; the action was specifically authorized by President Obama.

11. Well, Repubs also complained

when Clinton tried to get Bin Laden. They accused him of "wagging the dog".

At least Repubs are consistent...in being idiots.

...the president publicly thanked the people who did the work, over and over and over again.

Your brother is a dolt.

12. I thought about posting something along the lines of:

"oh you agree that CEOs don't do any work and simply leech of the labor of their workers?

13. I don't think it applies in this case

because the President isn't paid that much, relatively speaking. Also, in this case he was more hands-on than a CEO, much closer to being a manager (in the sense that he picked specific details of the mission).

15. I agree with CJCrane...I wouldn't put it this way

He wouldn't get it, or would mistakenly see it as further bashing of the President.

Correct the disinformation and go for the underlying emotion...something along the lines of

"Obama planned the mission and directed it and honored the SEALS who carried out his orders... he did a great job! But you seem angry ---geee that doesn't make sense."

Something like that. Include the military chain of command---they like military stuff. Make it simple and aim at the EMOTION.

10. Oh that is a standard bit of bullshit the RWingers pull

It basically states that if a Dem does something a Repuke would do and get praise for, change tactics and say the Dem is taking all the credit for what the Dems supporters do/did.

Old canard...right back and laugh in their face. I would.

16. That is an excellent point. And besides, President Obama could've ordered the compound to be bombed

and he didn't.

And in turn the Seals got all of that info that is coming out today.
