"Nugent’s temper rose and he began to yell at the reporter..."

In a sit-down interview with the "CBS Morning Show" on Friday, set at the musician’s ranch in Texas, Nugent met with journalist Jeff Glor in, what began as, a calm back-and-forth discussion about allegations he had threatened President Obama, and the Secret Service inquiry that ensued.

***

After a defensive aside related to his charity work, Nugent’s temper rose and he began to yell at the reporter. “I’m an extremely loving, passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I’m a damn nice guy. And if you can find a screening process more powerful than that I’ll (BLEEP), (BLEEP), (BLEEP), (BLEEP).”

A momentary pause ensued before Nugent directed his focus off-screen, “Or (BLEEP)(BLEEP)(BLEEP) -- How’s that sound?”

Noted Glor, this last statement was aimed at a female CBS news producer off camera. TMZ does the heavy lifting on sorting out what was apparently behind the bleeps.

May 2012
Nugent exploded, "I'm an extremely loving and passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy ... and if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll s*ck your d**k."

Nugent then turned to Glor's female producer and said, "Or I'll f**k you, how's that sound?"

After the interview, Glor said Nugent's wife came out and told the former rock star that he needed to apologize. And he did.

Glor later identified the producer as Molly Kordares ... who looks like this:

This guy is going over the edge with hatred & meanness. He hasn't learned his lesson sufficiently & he's dangerous, considering the puzzling corporate media exposure this never-was/has-been is given.

He should be in jail. He may not ever have intended to actually act out his sideways threat to Obama himself, but he blustered it over the loudspeakers at the NRA convention where there might be a few like-minded gun enthusiasts who could possibly mentally nurture that suggestive bluster into action.

Why didn't the Secret Service see it that way & arrest him? And why is he getting so much media attention? He should be learning his lesson, not promoted by the media.

Amerigo I know you didn't select that pic of her TMZ did.

I looked at TMZ and it's part of the article. I almost alerted before I looked at the original article.

In context of Nugent's comments it really is just not the best pic. I really hate it. To me, and maybe I'm being overly sensitive, it just reeks "come get me." Seems like maybe TMZ went and found the most salacious pic they could find to post of the possible "fu*kee."

Rude on their part.

...you're right, I didn't select the pic. TMZ, as we all know, has built a reputation on smarmy, snarky gossip (and believe it or not, they really have toned it down...they used to be much worse). But they were the only outlet I could find that had transcribed what Nugent said, and as a "regular" on DU with what I think is at least a reasonable idea of the overall pulse here, I assumed there'd be a large percentage of folks who, if presented with the video clip of Nugent's remarks, would have said "I'm not watching that." And I can't say I blame them...I watched it and it was a supreme turn-off. He came across as a wormy, petulant, self-righteous slice of scum along the lines of Doug Neidermeyer in "Animal House." That part of the movie where Neidermeyer is spitting and sputtering at Flounder over the "pledge pin" on his uniform? THAT was Nugent, to a "T," in this clip.

The best part, though, is when Nugent told the reporter to **** his ****, the reporter sat there, cool as a cumcumber, no reaction whatsoever, just letting Nugent stew oin his own vile juices.

The fact that Rmoney assiduously pursued an endorsement from this foul-mouthed, cretinous, megalomaniac reveals Willard's moral bankruptcy more than anything he's said or done himself.

They then went about disseminating this term for the very purpose of being able to have right wingers say "I'm not politically correct." When saying that, there is a subtext that would imply that "politically correct" is something other than correct; a calculation made for political reasons. Now that they've said that, they can appear to be the person stating what they feel is the truth regardless of the political calculations or ramifications (when, of course, the entire thing was a political calculation... it's actually quite a brilliant strategy, and it still works).

...not even the most dinosaurine of them could voice -- even among themselves -- the old claim that Liberals and Lefties were "on orders from Moscow" without being an embarassment to the entire conservative movement. That lazy, self-serving explanation for why people saw things differently from them became unsustainable.

So they created another one. Instead of being dupes or agents of a foreign power relentlessly seeking to undermine our society, they decided everyone to their left just existed in this weird ideological fog and a form of "holier than thou"-ism.

I thought to look it up after I wrote that post, and from spending a bit of time, it's not completely clear. The term actually dates back hundreds of years and has had different uses. However, it is the case that it was popularized by the right wing for the purposes of being a derogatory term for the left.

The very next pieces of excrement that will tumble out of my mouth notwithstanding.

According to the new Hilary Rosen Rule, I believe it is incumbent on the popular media to begin a relentless campaign of asking candidate Romney just what sort of people his supporters are, does he agree with the views expressed by Mr. Nugent, and does he think they're appropriate? In what way were they appropriate, or if inappropriate, in what way? The American people need to know if Mitt Romney is a damn nice guy, and just what that might mean.

Get on it, popular media! We saw what happened when Hilary Rosen said something inelegant if 100% true. Now it's time for a little sauce for the gander.
