I must keep peace in my very small family and will certainly not 'like' any of this junk. I just hope he does not ever bring up politics during our periodic phone conversations. All I will reply is--lets not go there--.
I have no hope of changing his mind, or that of my now right leaning sister. Don't know where this came from but I don't subscribe to their beliefs. They were Dem's years ago, things changed after a few years in California and now Florida. Must be something in the water.

I am not attacking your relative, but this is usually what they have in common

(15,189 posts)We were smart enough to elect a Dem for Gov and those under him. We have the healthcare expansion Floriduh doesn't. It helps us out when Gopers move out. I guess they enjoy paying more for healthcare. I wish all Gopers would move out of Ca so we can have people using Medical who WANTED it. Not assholes who complain like my brother.

I am very familiar with the 'I don't want to see this' arrow.
I use it for his posts, at least most of them. I also have another relative with the same leanings. She tends to -forward- his posts. I get them twice!

(82,383 posts)also right wing, started up at the table at a restaurant at lunch after my Aunt's funeral! Couldn't we just talk about my aunt?
They were going on about Kasich and the unions and just seemed so worried about what they always worry about - that other people, whom they don't know, just might be getting something, somehow. They are so worried that other people might get something they don't deserve! (And they are upper middle class well off, so they are under no threat themselves - in fact, she inherited a lot of money from frugal ancestors).
The funny thing about the aunt (uncles' wife) is she is very nice to people she knows, but vicious in her views of people she doesn't know. Conservatives are often like that.
The Uncle is just a dominating bloviator.
I want to say something about stay away from the politics, and they might listen. Dad is guilty too as he actually brings it up! He is generally in favor of unions, so they were trying to convince him Kasich's union busting was necessary. I mean somebody was getting too much of a pension in a state we don't have anything to do with, but we can't have that!!!!!!
