I knew Christie was out of touch, but this I just don't get...(Weed and stuff)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/14/chris-christie-marijuana_n_7066636.html

If New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) becomes president of the United States, he said on "The Hugh Hewitt Show" Tuesday, he will "crack down" on those states that have ended prohibitions on marijuana.

When asked by Hewitt if he would enforce federal drug laws in those states that have legalized and regulated cannabis, Christie responded unequivocally.

"Absolutely," Christie said. "I will crack down and not permit it." <snip>

Honestly, what group is he courting with that backwards thinking? Even his base is not staunchly against legalization. He's trying to create a wedge issue where the public has already decided they are good with it. Not to mention he automatically loses a state like Colorado, which, COULD be a swing state.

I knew Christie was more out of touch then he puts on, but I thought he was a bit more pragmatic. I don't see his calculation here, unless he plans on 'evolving' later.

I've noticed that the percentage of people massively uptight about weed increases, the further you go that direction.

MJ is now legal in states that pressed their religious hate laws. So is Crisco going to unravel that too. What a blow hard. He'll be happy to know MJ is NOT permitted in jail. A place where I hope we find him by 2016.

Maybe he thinks he can revive his chances by taking a stance almost no one in either party, save Santorum, is likely to endorse out loud before the election.

Christie knows there is no chance, at least in 2016 of him getting elected as pres and he cant be gov of NJ again so he is thinking about how is he going to pay his bills once this term ends? Right now I bet Christie is looking for a PR job with some ultra right wing anti marijuana pro social security cutting lobbying firm or maybe a job on Wallstreet where ne can put his bullying nature to use.
