Scott Walker Plans To Ignore 'Political' Questions On Israel 'Listening Tour'

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) will reportedly steer clear of any reporters or public events during an upcoming trip to Israel in May.

The Wall Street Journal first reported on Monday that Walker shunned the press on his trip to Europe last week and planned to do the same in Israel. A spokesperson for Walker's Our American Revival PAC explained the governor's decision to not take any questions from reporters in an article published by the Washington Examiner on Wednesday.

"Gov. Walker's trip to Israel will be a listening tour," the spokesperson told the Examiner. "He is interested in hearing first-hand Israel's concerns about the future of our alliance and identifying ways to restore the ruptured bonds between our two countries."

Among the topics Walker will be discussing on the "listening tour" will be "the rise of Iran," war in Syria and Iraq, and the spread of radical Islam, according to the spokesperson. She made no mention of whether the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian question would be on the agenda.
