(146,317 posts)Medicare patients are welcomed. That's especially true of multi-specialty clinics, ERs and hospitals. I think you're confused here.
You might find an individual doctor in a solo practice who doesn't want Medicare patients, but that's an exception.

(12,157 posts)We got ours I'm March. I retired end of February. We chose to get a supplement offered by my former company that includes Part D.
Good luck to you.

(60,010 posts)LOVED my job, found it very rewarding on many levels.
When a chance to retire early presented itself, I took it, and it was strangely wonderful to be in a slow lane all of a sudden.
The internet really made a difference, for sure.

(17,120 posts)I got a Blue Cross / Blue Shield supplemental, which I thought covered me for Part D, also. But it turns out, I'm not covered for Part D in the supplemental. I'm paying out of my own pocket for all medicine, until I can get on board during the Open Enrollment, which won't happen until December.
I visited the local Social Security office, and co-ordinated with my company's HR staff, and thought I had all my bases covered. But it's tricky- I didn't do it right.
So, if you're going for a supplemental, and you need Part D, make sure it's included.
