Fox News Station Posts Fake Baltimore Riot Photo From Venezuela (IMAGES)

Sorry if this was already posted and I missed it

“BALTIMORE IN FLAMES: A massive fire has broken out in a building that was under construction and the Baltimore mayor’s spokesman says it’s related to the riots…”

This fake Baltimore photo is from the 2014 Venezuela riots. That’s right: Fox posted a photo taken around 2,000 miles away and claimed that it was in the center of Baltimore

Which one of these would be the better slogan for FOX?

"FOX: the best in Fear, Obsequiousness, and Xenophobia"

"FOX: the first name in fear"

It's the Bill O'Reilly "I saw Photos of it, so I was There" school of news reporting.

the definitions of or how to spell Obsequiousness and Xenophobia, I'll vote for "FOX: the first name in fear".

it seems most people were willing to regard car burkas and messages from the Quran in burnt toast patterns as actual facts.

This is from a the local Fox broadcast affiliate in Memphis. That station is owned by Cox Enterprises, not Fox and it puts together its own news programming. If this had been created by and for the Fox cable news channel or even by Fox for all its broadcast affiliates, it would have appeared in more places than Memphis. This was a screw up -- a big one -- by a local station, not by Fox (for a change).

The point of the above isnt to defend Fox, but simply to point out that if people go around blaiming this on Fox, they could end up making Fox look better than it is because, in fact, this one wasn't Fox's doing.

There's plenty of inaccurate shit on Fox News; we don't have to resort to passing along inaccurate information to make our point.
