(9,688 posts)But nice of you to pick the term "lynchmob" and put the most negative spin on it.
I suppose you think justice and fairness should be taken for granted, as being the norm?
eta: and of course justice and fairness should be expected as immediate responses!

How's that for quick action?

(38,687 posts)The cops who beat Rodney King got a fair trial. The cops who murdered Arthur McDuffie got a fair trial. What is needed in these cases is convictions and jail time for the criminal cops. And the demonstrators in Baltimore are right to demand it.

(9,688 posts)What came to pass in that case was that Zimmerman is walking the streets, probably profiting off his fame.
What came to pass is that nothing changed.

(92,204 posts)Yes, there are far too many times when crimes against African Americans by police or self appointed security guards get off, and that needs to be addressed. I think of Trevor Martin, and how he was killed and his killer found not guilty. I think of Fergunson Mo, and how the grand jury would not indict, a large part because the district attorney gave the grand jury wrong instructions, and now this incident in Baltimore
Giuliani would always come out on the side of the police, even before the facts were known. The latest example was his asinine comments after the police killed a man with a choke hold for selling illegal cigerates, and not resisting
So yes, you are right, a jury decides guilt or innocence, but based on the type of justice African Americans have been receiving for crimes committed against them, I have no problem with people calling for a conviction. A jury will ultimately decide it regardless, but people have every right to be skeptical especially based on our history
