Up to now, I thought so.
But now, I don't know.
While driving to get some fast food this evening, I heard some radio host - I assume right-wing - was making the same arguments against the TPP that I hear from DU and the Democrats. Of course, his opposition could have been just another way to be anti-Obama? I don't think that is necessarily true of DU?
But then, aren't the House Republicans very close to right-wing talk radio? Did they not make Rush Limbaugh an honorary member of the House the last time they had the majority? If they oppose the TPP, along with a majority of Democrats in the House, the President will have to request further study on the treaty before it can be signed.
Because he may not have the votes to get it approved?

They probably will not be able to pass it in the House with only Republican votes. They will need some Democrats to vote for TPP to pass it.
It could well be that we will need votes of tea people to block the TPP.

(9,086 posts)It's kind of troubling that the tea people haven't been more vocal against it. They should be all up in arms against TPP because black helicopters. It seems like Alex Jones covers it though (Warning offensive content): 666.

(9,086 posts)We're against it because it is bad for workers and the environment and gives corporations too much power. They're probably against it because black helicopters and FEMA camps. That's a caricature but sort of real.
