Tropical Storm Ana intensifies as it churns toward the Carolinas

http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/09/weather/tropical-storm-ana/

(CNN)Tropical Storm Ana gained strength as it moved toward North and South Carolina early Saturday.

Ana, the first named storm of the 2015 Atlantic tropical storm season, spawned off the coast of Georgia on Thursday.

As of 5 a.m. ET Friday, it was about 105 miles southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.

Beachgoers and sailors should take Ana seriously. High rip currents could sweep swimmers on the shores of Georgia and South Carolina out to sea. The storm may cause coastal flooding in South Carolina.
