Mad Libs with Westboro Baptist Chruch!!!! Let's everybody play!

Here's how the game works: Below I have posted three juicy examples of Westboro Baptist 'religious speech' which some DUers claim is 'not provocative nor inciting'. I invite readers to read these quotes then reread them, replacing the words 'sodomites' and 'Jews' and 'fags' with the name of a minority group that you actually respect....see how it sounds to you.

"Filthy sodomites crave legitimacy as dogs eating their own vomit & sows wallowing in their own feces crave unconditional love."
— Westboro Baptist Church news release, Jan. 15, 1998

"We told you, right after it happened five years ago, that the deadly events of 9/11 were direct outpourings of divine retribution, the immediate visitation of God’s wrath and vengeance and punishment for America’s horrendous sodomite sins, that worse and more of it was on the way. We further told you that any politician, any political official, any preacher telling you differently as to the cause and interpretation of 9/11 is a dastardly lying false prophet, cowardly and mean, and headed for hell. And taking you with him! God is no longer with America, but is now America’s enemy. God himself is now America’s terrorist."
— Fred Phelps, “9/11: God’s Wrath Revealed,” Sept. 8, 2006.

"JEWS KILLED JESUS! Yes, the Jews killed the Lord Jesus…Now they’re carrying water for the fags; that’s what they do best: sin in God’s face every day, with unprecedented and disproportionate amounts of sodomy, fornication, adultery, abortion and idolatry! God hates these dark-hearted rebellious disobedient Jews."
— Westboro Baptist Church news release, April 23, 2009

We lived through this and much worse, brought again and again to our funerals and sanctuaries. This is what has already been done, already demanded of LGBT people and Jewish people for years. To pretend otherwise is a lie.

Next Mad Libs will be a mash up! Rick Warren and Pope Francis, toe to toe with rants about pedophile gays disfiguring God. Sound good?

In my scenario, it is LGBT culture that is better than religious culture because when attacked by religious hate preachers we respond not with violence but with our well known sense of humor and flair for cultural commentary. We mock them, look good doing it, then win. Other insulted minority groups should consider doing the same, religious or otherwise.

26. The Jewish Defence League already got the message long ago...
Mon May 11, 2015, 12:44 AM
May 2015
The Jewish Defense League (JDL) is a Jewish far-right religious-political organization whose stated goal is to "protect Jews from antisemitism by whatever means necessary".[1] While the group asserts that it "unequivocally condemns terrorism" and states that it has a "strict no-tolerance policy against terrorism and other felonious acts",[2] it was classified as "a right-wing terrorist group" by the FBI in 2001 and is considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[3][4] According to the FBI, the JDL has been involved in plotting and executing acts of terrorism within the United States.[3]

Founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane in New York City in 1968, the JDL's self-described purpose was to protect Jews from local manifestations of antisemitism.[1][5] Its criticism of the Soviet Union increased support for the group, transforming it from a "vigilante club" into an organization with a stated membership numbering over 15,000 at one point.[6] The group took to bombing Arab and Soviet properties in the United States,[7] and targeting various alleged "enemies of the Jewish people", ranging from Arab-American political activists to neo-Nazis, for assassination.[8] A number of JDL members have been linked to violent, and sometimes deadly, attacks in the United States and in other countries, including the murder of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee regional director Alex Odeh in 1985, the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre in 1994, and a plot to assassinate Congressman Darrell Issa in 2001.[9] The National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism's database of identified terrorist organizations, which is compiled by official contractors and consultants to the United States government and is supported by the Department of Homeland Security, identifies the JDL as a "former terrorist organization".[10] The JDL's website states that it rejects terrorism.[11]

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the JDL consists only of "thugs and hooligans".[12] The group's founder, Meir Kahane, "preached a radical form of Jewish nationalism which reflected racism, violence and political extremism,"[1] attitudes that were replicated by Irv Rubin, the successor to Kahane.[13] In 2002, the Southern Poverty Law Center added the Jewish Defense League to its list of watched hate groups for the JDL's "long history of bombing, assaulting and threatening its perceived enemies" such as "the Soviet Union, neo-Nazi activists, Palestinian leaders, prominent black Americans and even Jewish moderates" as well as other Jewish radicals, and stated that the JDL "claims to have 13,000 members, but apparently has a few dozen at best."[4]

In 1994, the JDL's sister movements Kach and Kahane Chai were both outlawed in Israel as terrorist organizations posing a threat to state security; they are also banned in the United States and the European Union.[14] "JDL Canada" remains legal,[15] despite sharing the ideology, goals and identical logo of the banned organization.[16] However, the French branch of the JDL, the Ligue de Défense Juive (LDJ), is not illegal in France.[17] Several JDL members and leaders died violent deaths, including Kahane himself.[18]

While the Pamela Geller thing didn't really make much of an appearance in the news over here, from what I've read at DU I've worked out that the two who wanted to go on a rampage in the US are pretty closely related to the ones over here that the cops have been shutting down before they get started. Two very recent ones are the 17yr old in Melbourne who was making bombs at home and the group who were getting all ready to attack and behead cops at an ANZAC day service (for those who don't know, it's not a religious service, it was the 100 year anniversary of the landing in Gallipoli and it's a pretty sacred day here). They're all lone wolves and more than likely reacting to the siren call of ISIS to try to fuck shit up by killing innocent people.

On a side-note, Westboro Baptist Church hates me as well, though they hate LGBTs so much they feature heavily in the hate of us. I snickered till I got to the bit about people burning alive and when I realised they were talking about this, I kind of felt a bit sick. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Saturday_bushfires

God hates Australia, land of the sodomite damned! The fag-infested land of Australia is burning. The fire of God's wrath is sending hundreds of those filthy Australian beasts straight to hell! We at Westboro Baptist Church are rejoicing, and we are praying that the dear Lord would burn many more Australians alive!

Don't you stupid Aussies get it? Australia is doomed! Nothing, and nobody, can help you. You have sinned willfully after you have received knowledge of the truth.

That's the point. Geller is not a new monster. Others facing the same monster made fun of it and frankly had a good time doing so. Those who use violence are responsible for that violence and they are also idiots, because you can't use violence to win in such battles, you have to use your wits.
