(41,159 posts)and native New Yorker Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, longtime fighter for policies and jobs for working Americans, of all backgrounds. He's known as a fierce advocate of employment, education, healthcare, social safety programs and equality. Climate change's devastation on society and the earth is also recognized by the Senator.
For decades he has focused on protecting and strengthening this country and Americans, especially in job devastated urban centers like Baltimore which he spoke about recently, and blighted rural regions, small towns and wide areas of the US that have deteriorated in the last 30 years.
It's in everyone's interest to know the views and positions of candidates in the very important upcoming 2016 Race for President and Congress.

(41,159 posts)I respect and value what Bernie Sanders is about and also have long ties to the Clintons and the Democratic Party as well, more than you want to know.
Beyoncé, Jay Z and Alicia Keys were recent guests at Prince's "Rally 4 Peace" concert in Baltimore, May 10 where they spent time with Michael Brown's mom and Freddie Gray's family members thanks to Prince's inclusion of the victim's families, a great gesture. (I featured this affair and group photos here heavily).
One of my brothers in the music industry in NYC was very active politically also, lived in a condo building for artists and knew many entertainment figures and the scene. Through that I learned how it's a connected world there like other places. Being involved, now more than ever is what's important. It's all good.

(41,159 posts)On that note, what a beautiful portrait of Jay Z and Beyoncé. Her look and outfit are breathtaking, just stunning and perfect for the event, the Met's Costume Institute Benefit Gala, May 4, 2015.
Below Beyoncé is with Michael Brown's mom, and Alicia Keys and sister Tina Knowles backstage at the Prince Rally 4 Peace concert in Balto. on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10. Wonderful ladies sharing some love.
