especially after he was very mean and nasty to Senator Kerry and his wife. (comparing him to the pathetic lowlife Bush2 as a "bowl of s--t). Don't know how he is with Obama, but don't care for him or if he is liberal or not. Real liberals don't trash liberals who are working to make things better for people, especially one who has done more for REAL people than Mr. Black ever will.

He isn't funny, more like a big joke that's on him.

Everyone is flawed and a good comedian won't hold back because they happen to agree with them politically.

I don't know what he said about Sen Kerry, but good comedy also has a purpose and is used to make a point. Just being nasty for the sake of it, with no purpose (like a lot of right-wing comedy), isn't funny at all.

It was nasty what he said about Kerry.

And it is not funny when they piled on Gore either, and it isn't funny if they pile on Kerry, Hillary, Biden for that matter. They are also finding out they have to be careful when it comes to Obama (the first AA president).

Even though Leno is tolerable, I understand that making people laugh is their job, but me has no respect for any comedian (Jon Stewart, and Craig Ferguson do it at times) who tries to get cheap laughs using RW memes at people's expense.

The people who really should be piled on daily are Mute Romney, and the GOP. They are the ones (alone with help from Blue Dogs) who should be the targets.

You find Jay Leno, who has the insight of a turd pile, "tolerable" (and gets his opinions from his writers ten minutes before he goes on stage), yet you think Jon Stewart, one of the keenest political observers of our time, just take pot shots and follows RW memes.

Have you, by chance, ever appeared on Jay's "Street Walking" segment, or whatever they call it?

Never have appeared there, but it's entertaining because it proves a point.

Maybe just like Leno's jokes about the GOP (sometimes his is very raunchy towards obama, i.e. the Obama eats pit bull, pandas, etc). Stewart definitely gets his from someone. He has been on this whole "Kerry is boring" meme since 2004 (kudos to EPA secretary Jackson her silence), and the "Obama won't do/hasn't done _____"since 2009. Plus, TDS probably gets a lot of their info from NY pols who harbor a grudges towards certain pols. SNL hasn't been funny since Eddie Murphy and (Sen) Al Franken left.

Just don't get all the hype over Mr. Black like some do here, but to each his/her own.

and you probably repeated it like Faux news. Sorta like the "Kerry is some corporatist DLC sellout" that some so-called Dems, liberals progressive still repeat here. Kinda like the "Obama is a coward, sellout" memes of the last three and half years.

Name the more liberal candidates?

Interesting you say that Kerry isn't a liberal, yet his record (though not perfect) on liberal stances says otherwise. You must be one of those that never forgave him for beating whoever your candidate was.

Luckily people like Uncle Ted (R.I.P.) disagreed with you and thought otherwise. More power to him.

I actually voted for John Kerry in 2004 because it was anyone but Bush, and several of my friends were finding out the hard way there were no weapons of mass destruction, while others they knew were dying, but I never campaigned for Kerry under the illusion that he was the next Franklin Roosevelt or John F. Kennedy. He was just the only option left to unseat a proto-fascist in the White House.

I heard more than enough from the news media about Kerry faking his war record. That's what I remembered, and it was despicable garbage.

he wasn't Bush. A lot of people withheld support/respect for him because he was Pro-IWR, hunted peasants, and wasn't _______ like Clinton or Obama.

A lot of well known so-called liberals, Dems have said the same thing meme, which is probably why the Senator still unfairly maligned and somewhat trashed while McCain lost in a landslide gets treated like a midas by his own party and the media. We always know how to eat our own. They did the same with Obama and Hillary (aka the PUMA stuff).

the "isn't special" part may be crucial now that he is on trial and has proven to be another person from the one he was portrayed.

Mr. Black should try running for office and put his life and family, and their privacy on the line. Until he does that, then he can talk trash.

His intolerance of the absurd and anti-authoritarian rantings are great stuff, and make me feel so well adjusted and in control of my emotions by comparison.

Other question for me is...what the heck happened to Gallagher? His HBO specials were all so cool, and he definitely had a centrist lean with a gaze to the left, to what he is now. Literally giving himself heart attacks over the Socilist, Gay loving, Muslim Anti American president currently residing in black skin in the White House...Anybody know if he got run over by a gay parade and swore vengeance or what?

During a March 10, 2011 performance in Rochester, Minnesota, Gallagher collapsed on stage, gripping his chest. He was rushed to Saint Marys Hospital, where it was determined that he had suffered a minor heart attack.[13]
A year later, on March 14, 2012 just before a performance in Lewisville, Texas, Gallagher began to experience intense chest pains. Gallagher's manager said the comic suffered a "mild to serious" heart attack and was placed in the hospital in a medically induced coma while doctors tried to determine what was wrong with his heart.[14][15] After replacing two coronary stents, doctors slowly brought him out of the coma on March 18, 2012. He quickly recovered and started talking to his family. His manager, Christine Sherrer, stated that he was breathing on his own, moving and telling jokes.[16]
He was released from the hospital March 21, 2012. On March 22, 2012 he was interviewed by Scott Spears of WDCM in Marion, Ohio. During the interview he announced his retirement from live stage performances. Giving a glimpse into his retirement plans he left open the possibility of performing at private parties. He also stated that he would post his writings on the internet.[17] On March 24, 2012 he suffered another minor heart attack after running out of his heart medication and was again hospitalized.

Black has described his political affiliation as: "I'm a socialist, so that puts me totally outside any concept...the Canadians get it. But seriously, most people don't get it. The idea of capping people's income just scares people. 'Oh, you're taking money from the rich.' Ooh, what a horrifying thing. These people really need $200 million"

Okay... If you actually go to see Lewis Black live, there is a warm up act in which another comedian comes out and warns the audience that Lewis Black is actually insane, and that you shouldn't laugh because it only encourages him.

My apparent error is assuming that people have actually seen more than his bits on the Daily Show.

Lewis Black: We have a two party system: the Democratic party, which is a party of no ideas, and the Republican party, which is a party of bad ideas. And the way it works is, the Republican stands up in Congress and goes, "I got a really bad idea." And the Democrat says, "And I can make it shittier."
