Line Jansrud, the show's host, shows viewers how to French kiss (by demonstrating on a tomato), how to give a hickey (by demonstrating with a vacuum on her neck), reminds viewers of the age of consent (which over there is 16 years old), and tells them not to rush into having sex because "it'll happen soon enough."
Jansrud also shows both genders how to masturbate with both human models and plastic models, and shows how penetrative sex works by inserting a plastic penis into a plastic vagina, adding that, "for it to be pleasant, it's vital that the vagina is moist enough."
While most of us know all this stuff now, I certainly did not know most of this information as a kid and man, would I have liked to. Point: Norway.

Video with subs at link. Possibly NSFW, some might even be offended by the video. I doubt many here will, but I sort of feel I had to include that.
What do DUers think about this? I don't see anything inappropriate here regarding the content as such. Quite the contrary, much needed for certain ages. Every 15-16 year old on the planet would probably benefit from watching this. But this show has a lot of viewers that are a lot younger than that. Is that a bridge too far?

(17,997 posts)Can't begin to tell you how naive I was the first time. It's actually pretty funny, how much I didn't know

(30,761 posts)these topics when we were in junior high and high school. We learned ignorant crap from each other. We had parents who would not discuss anything about the mechanics of sex or birth control.
It is a good thing to have a reliable source. How can this be bad?

(4,035 posts)He illustrated the fertilization of the egg by running up a huge mock vagina with an armful of ropes, each with a knot tied in one end, losing all but one of them on the way, and mushing the rope with the big plasticine egg at the end. This was the early 80s and the series was called Our Body - another masterpiece of the Norwegian State tv channel.
I also remember making wall posters on contraceptives in middle school, and having fun drawing penises with condoms to illustrate how to use them.
Unlike the US, Norwegians and other sensible people know that the most efficient way of postponing the sexual debut of teenagers is to give them a thorough sexual education early. Average age is 17,9 years for guys, and 17 years for girls. Statistics say that for the majority, most plan their first sex with their boyfriend/girlfriend, it doesn't happen at parties etc, and in fact, a majority are satisfied and happy with their first sexual experience. What's more, most of them use condoms the first time. I call that pretty civilized, don't you agree?

(24,035 posts)...visit on a 16 yr old girl. I always ask the kids if they have any questions. This young lady had a few. She wanted to know if it meant there was anything wrong if she had not yet been able to use tampons. I assured her that there was not, and that some practice was needed, and perhaps a mirror. As the exam went on, she had another question. She was on birth control pills for acne, and was thinking she might like to avail herself of the contraceptive benefits, too. She said she wasn't sure she was ready.
I thought to myself, "Well, if you haven't yet had a tampon in there, you are not ready." She obviously had no idea of the dimensions of an erect human penis.
I think sex ed classes should include full-on perineal views of childbirth.
