No matter who our nominee is next year,

the best way for that man or woman to win the general election will be to run ads that show very clearly how Republicans for more than 35 years have dismantled the safety net, sent jobs overseas, tried hard to keep people from getting health care coverage, systematically neglected the infrastructure, and all of the many things they've done to harm ordinary Americans. Yes, the candidate also needs to be able to articulate a clear vision of what to change and how to change it, but most of all the voters need to be reminded very specifically what Republicans have done.

are simply too far removed from the average voter. Republicans have done an amazing job of demonizing unions, teachers, all government employees. They have too many convinced that all taxes are bad, that privatization of public things is good. And so on. Those messages need to be directly countered, to be shown to be the lies that they are.
