Assembly passes bill to create single-payer health planThe state Assembly approved on Wednesday evening a bill that would create a single-payer health system in New York.
The bill passed 89-47.
As my colleague Claire Hughes reported this morning, the vote is the first to occur on the proposal, which Health Committee Chair Richard Gottfried has introduced annually for years, since 1992.

Particularly with no funding mechanism
So this is a real thing? It's actually happening?
I look forward to the delicious tears of corporations and Republicans. They help sustain me.
How was the voting? Dem vs Repub?
I have no doubt our Dems will be loudly talking about this every day.
(I don't actually live in New York, but good news is good news all the same)
