Latest NYT/CBS poll: 55%-42% oppose fast track. Democrats in favor 63%-32%, R's opposed 72%-27%.

Independents opposed by 61%-35%.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/06/03/business/income-inequality-workers-rights-international-trade-poll.html

It was not surprising that 78% said they had heard or read not much (30%) or nothing (48%) about TPP. It was odd that after 20 years, 63% did not know enough about NAFTA to express an opinion. Of the minority that expressed an opinion about NAFTA, 22% favored it (24% of Democrats) and 14% were opposed (13% of Democrats).

There have not been as many polls released in the past few weeks as I expected. You would think that all sides would be doing polling while congress is debating and voting on fast track.

we're just a resource to be exploited. As long as they can maintain the illusion of consent they will.

republicans? Or are "they" creating the 'illusion' of rejection from independents and republicans for some equally nefarious reason?

thought "fast tracking the TPP" meant their triple pancake platter would be ready in a jiffy?

Issue polls on complex matters is nothing more than a sample of how well the public has been brainwashed by the media. The media really wants to know and so pays for them as a necessity, not a service.

Remember when the public was polled and agreed to the Iraq War? How pleased was the media then?

And the Great American Ebola Panic of 2014, resulting in the slaughter of.....two Americans in the end, that was a mass media brainwashing coup de force.

agreements (any effective, enforceable climate change treaty certainly will be) are and always will be.

The AFL-CIO has been polling of support for/opposition to fast track for a long time. I doubt they think that is wasted effort.

Apparently independents and republicans are less susceptible to brainwashing than are Democrats.

I really have not seen much on TV or print media about TPP one way or the other. Certainly nothing even remotely similar to the buildup to the Iraq War or last year's Ebola Panic. That was all 24/7 type coverage. I haven't seen that pro- or anti-TPP.

I am very ashmed to be a democrat with this

Dems laregly approve of screwing unions and giving more power to corporations?

We have entered bizaro world.

The way things are going i will have to declare myself an independent since my views seem to have no place in democratic party
anymore. That means if your liberal,pro-union,anti-wall street,anti-war,pro-civil rights you have no place in Democratic party anymore.
