6. When people get all up-in-arms about

the morality of others in society, it's always instructive to look at what those accusers consider to be normal behavior. Their 'normal' is usually very much at odds with anything most civilized people want to experience.

I feel so sorry for the children who live in those households, but there's not a lot that can be done about those situations when the parents hide behind religion. The poor kids will just have to hope they can keep it all together until they're old enough to get out.

Religious nuts are as common as dirt in much of America, and they're often given wide latitude in raising their children in whatever perverse fashion they choose. Something horrible usually has to happen before people like the Duggars get investigated. Even if the officials look into the situation there, the Duggars will have the best lawyers, and they'll have political friends pulling strings for them. Things are unfortunately unlikely to change much in that home.

The women are not seen as anything other than baby machines in each religion. Sex is strictly regulated by a patriarch. Women are things to be given away.

10. A lot of religions are pedophile rings,

or groups of people who cover up other abuse. Not all of them are small, either. The Catholic Church comes to mind. They get very little official attention in comparison to the number of people they abuse. Too many officials have membership in these organizations, not to mention how much money they receive from them. A lot of things will have to change in our society before we begin to see much justice done in those cases.

some Bishop covering up abuse for years. They used to get away with playing musical priests. I am sure it's still done, it's just harder for them to get away with it.
