(30,885 posts)...is that RimJob has backed off on his threats to shitcan any pro-Romney ffreepers. That's because he wants their money. He runs quarterly drives, each at $96K, and my GUESS is that most of that goes directly into his pocket, because F.R. is a primitive message board site, and "operating costs" (his rationale for the drives) must be a joke. Of course, he DOES tell them that "salaries," including his own, come out of the money raised. He just doesn't tell them that it probably amounts to 99% of what he rakes in. He's pulling in $384K a year...take a look at that site and tell me how much you think is being spent on "maintenance and operation."

(33,688 posts)design and interface. And usenet has been a relic for fifteen years.
I know you were just trying to use something old-sounding, but Usenet is actually much more usable than pretty much any Web-based forum for the simple reason that you choose your own client. I hate that so much of the Internet moved away from that model. I remember in my classes before our EECS department moved from Usenet to a Web forum it was much easier to keep track of threads (just showed up as unread in my email/Usenet client vs having to remember to check the website).
Oh, and more along the lines of your comment: "at least Usenet has decent threading functionality!"

(56,828 posts)this is a terrific ad for Obama.
Or, the one with Newt Gingrich on TV with the host asking "Are you calling Mitt Romney a liar?" Newt "Yes"
Or, the one from the RW radio host:
>>>
Bryan Fischer, right-wing extremist and leader of the American Family Association, openly gloated: Let me ask you this question, people have raised this question, he said Friday on his radio show. If Mitt Romney can be pushed around, intimidated, coerced, co-opted by a conservative radio talk show host in Middle America, then how is he going to stand up to the Chinese? How is he going to stand up to Putin? How is he going to stand up to North Korea if he can be pushed around by a yokel like me?
