While the article from "The Hill" says "Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle appeared at Beau Bidens funeral" the only one they listed was Mitch McConnell, while they listed a number of Democratic lawmakers. Also heard on MSNBC when they were talking about who was there only mentioning McConnell saying they didn't see any other Republicans.
While I'm sure the Biden family could have cared less who was there from the right side of the aisle, I find it a sad commentary on the lack of bipartisanship that Republican Senators who have known Joe Biden for years, did not attend. If I'm incorrect about who attended, please by all means set me right. I'd rather be wrong in this instance.

I wouldn't be surprised if McConnell was the only one there. As a group the republican congress is the most classless group of shitheels I've ever encountered.

(21,577 posts)if I were in bidens shoes, having lost my son in such a matter, the last thing I would want to see in the audience is anyone who opposes science and medical research. how many times has McConnell stood in the way of progress? of grants to universities? of funding bills for the poor that cannot afford healthcare?
now he wants to sit in the room and mourn my son's death?
not saying all the money in the world would have saved Biden, but people like McConnell have set the progress towards ending such diseases back years.
