Hint: Saying you’re “not racist” all too frequently means you ARE a racist.

https://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2015/06/11/hint-saying-youre-not-racist-all-too-frequently-means-you-are-a-racist/

Source info at the link.

For example, let us take the case of Karen Fitzgibbons, an elementary school teacher who posted the following on Facebook:

Here is the text for those who can’t enlarge the image:

“I’m going to just go ahead and say it … the blacks are the ones causing the problems and this ‘racial tension.’ I guess that’s what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education. I’m sure their parents are just as guilty for not knowing what their kids were doing; or knew it and didn’t care. I’m almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone. Maybe the 50s and 60s were really on to something. Now, let the bashing of my true and honest opinion begin….GO! #imnotracist #imsickofthemcausingtrouble #itwasatagedcommunity,”

Saying “#imnotracist” after such a screed is, well, let’s just say it’ll wash a lot of hogs. Anyone who feels it necessary to avow their alleged non-racism needs a new mirror, or maybe new eyeballs.

Or maybe, just the ability to not lie to themselves.

It's not a topic he cares about and is probably upset that we are picking on this bigoted ass wipe and not letting some woman defend her stupid dumb fuck comments.

But this poster is always the one to jump in and say 'oh and then of course there's always these people obsessed with race'. It's like watching a train wreck.

I get the feeling this guy could watch the shooting of a defenseless unarmed person and claim the victim was to blame for getting in the way of the bullets.

Sad you feel the need to do this. Life can be empty for some, but we need to fill our lives up with more positive endeavors, yes? Lying is not acceptable. I corrected you earlier, and you did not provide any evidence of the CHILD pointing a gun at the COPS. They shot him too fast for him to be able to point a gun at them. Less that two seconds from arrival to shooting. You are lying and You have an agenda, I suspect. Very sad. Grown man lying on a dead child. I'd suggest you be ashamed, but It would be a waste.

She was mouthing off. She said in the interviewed that what she said to "robocop" as she was leaving with the group of other kids was that she needed to get her bag with her phone in it so she could call her mother.

And I watched the video many times and he never told her to leave 8 times as you claim.

He was just an out-of-control cop who body-slammed and manhandled a teenage girl in a bikini that he outweighed by 100 pounds.

And was proud of it — added it to his YouTube collection of cop videos until all the protests started coming in, then he took it down.

Wonder if he's still proud of it now that his chief call his actions "indefensible" and that he was "out of control."

His career is now in shambles. Bet he'll thing twice about putting his hands on another teen girl.

His ridiculous ass didn't even try to assess the situation. He just saw a bunch of dark children and assumed they are the problem. why weren't any of those maggots looking or speaking to adults??? that twisted Blart Mall Cop has the sense of a gnat. and that's disrespecting the gnat. You see what you want to see. And when being detained or questioned by police a child can request a parent. And personally had it been my daughter he would of had to shoot. Because I would have kicked that POS like an alley football. And it would have been another story h a B---ch slapped my child. she would have given up the ghost.

"people who call everything racist"

No doubt, that particular mythical creature you reference is a sacred cow to the obsessed and irrational who pretend its existence to better validate their own personal biases. Often exemplified by making the allegation yet cower behind implication if asked to show objective evidence.

No doubt, you'll provide objective evidence.

AND that the white woman who shouted "go back to Section 8 housing" was totally out of line to call the police.

And the cop has admitted he was wrong to do what he did.

Why bother defending this when the guy who did it isn't defending it?

Does it really scare you that much to see innocent black teenagers peacefully celebrating their graduation from high school?

16. Self defense as evidence of guilt.
Thu Jun 11, 2015, 01:12 PM
Jun 2015

Only the guilty need to defend themselves. If you're not racist, it's evident and you'd never be accused. First, we require samo-kritika--self-criticism, a confession of wrong-doing and public self-humiliation. It had to meet certain requirements to be acceptable, even as those requirements changed. Of course, samo-kritika with minor punishment as the terms of official forgiveness was fine for the early CPSU. Later it was a requirement to avoid extreme sanction, forgiveness wasn't on the table. (And yet later, it was a requirement to just protect your family and friends from guilt by association, your fate was known to be decided as soon as you were accused.)

This was, of course, deemed "justice." Sometimes the accusations were fake, incomplete, self-serving in a narrow or broader way (class hatred and sometimes ethnic hatred were rampant, but accusations were part of the power-structure). But this was "justice," under some useful definition at the moment.

Simply put, we have the accusation that suits us from an approved source. We have the denial from the pre-judged. What more evidence do we need? Punish him and anybody that doesn't treat him like a leper.

Well, evidence, in the first place. But the same effect works with evidence: if it's from an approved source and meets our needs, then it's assumed to be true, accurate, complete, and completely damning. We're in a hurry, damn it, and justice delayed by even 5 minutes is justice long denied.

But justice rushed is also justice buried. Given the accusation and alleged evidence, a reasoned examination of it is needed instead of a knee-jerk reaction. This person does something wrong, and it's a societal and cultural problem, he can't be held responsible--and perhaps the evidence is taken out of context, is flawed, etc., etc., we must feel empathy. And as a last resort in sufficiently rarefied strata we point to judgment across group-boundaries. We demand that cultural traits among American sub-groups be taken into account when evaluating some groups--there's a huge sociological and educational literature on the topic. But when we evaluate evidence, it's an individual pathology that must be treated like ebola. When we evaluate evidence across those same boundaries ... wait, such boundaries don't exist.

I'll save the M-word for later. It's early in the day and my inner curmudgeon may demand dinner, or even supper. Some days I hold not just my species or genus in contempt, but my whole damned order for the traits we share. This is turning out to be one of those days.

And sometimes, even posts from 8 years ago (or damn close) that they've spent the last 8 years trying to pretend were one thing when every damn person on this board could see that they are nothing of the sort.

And they're still howling about it years later. Would be funny if it wasn't so freaking pathetic.

The white man has been the most arrogant, self absorbed, destructive
egotistical, invasive, extremist, imperialistic, sub-race of Homo Sapien that has ever come down the pipe and American white males get bonus points on all fronts. Why can't we look into that mirror collectively as a country and move forward?

as a white male I agree with this statement, i can see why some white males would have trouble with it, though

Why? Native Americans refer to 'the white man'. You know what they are talking about, I presume. It's not the same as an individual one on one meeting or discussion, where we tend to be much more understanding and acknowledge the subtle inherent values and behavior of each person and tend to welcome them with open arms no matter their superficial differences. I hope you can accept the difference between those two things without being too resentful. Because otherwise, to me at least, it just kind of looks like a white male mistakenly crying about being called racist, for which I have no fucks to give. I say this as a while male.

No jk.

My two cents in all this; if you're not "racist" then you don't need to announce it. If someone accuses you of being racist, just shrug it off and say "whatever' and move on. Denying your a racist to someone who thinks you're racist will just make that person think you're a bigger racist. Confusing I know but were not dealing with rational people.

What also bothers me is that over the last year or two there seems to be a contingent of people calling just about everyone else a racist by default.

I was looking at my posts from 2001 on and I was about the most obnoxious anti-bigot out there. It isn't hard to find those posts either on Google. But now I seem to be relegated to an older white guy who is tone deaf blah blah blah...

It is frustrating but fortunately I am not on DU nearly as much anymore. Whew.
