What you need for Saturday's Clinton Rally

We can't wait to see you on Saturday at the Hillary for America official launch event -- we're so excited that you're going to be a part of this day! Here's some information you'll need ahead of time:
When and Where
- Saturday, June 13th doors open at 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- FDR Four Freedoms Park, Roosevelt Island, NY

What to bring
- Your printed ticket -- the confirmation email you received when you registered for the event, you can also use your phone to show your ticket. Children under the age of 13 do not need a ticket to enter the event.
- Small personal cameras and cell phones will be permitted.
- Guests are encouraged to bring water in standard-sized, clear plastic bottles, as there will be a limited supply at the event.

What not to bring
- There will be airport style security. Items that will NOT BE permitted include food, liquids other than water, large bags, large purses, backpacks, strollers, umbrellas, noise makers, bullhorns, posters, signs, pets other than licensed service animals, sharp objects, or weapons.

What to expect
- Limited cell service on Roosevelt Island.
- The event is standing only -- seating will be provided for ADA guests.
- Food is not permitted in the park, so make sure to have breakfast before you arrive.
- Be prepared for a hot summer day; sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes are highly encouraged.

How to get to Four Freedoms Park
The best way to get to the park is by public transportation -- parking on the island will be extremely limited.

- Subway: Take the F Train to the Roosevelt Island stop. Follow signs to Four Freedoms Park.

- Tram: From Manhattan: Get on the tram at 59th Street & Second Avenue Station. Travel time to Roosevelt Island is 4-5 minutes, with trams departing every 10 minutes. Exit at Tramway Station on Roosevelt Island. Follow signs to Four Freedoms Park.

- Bus: From Queensboro Plaza overpass, take stairway down north side to corner of Crescent and Bridge Plaza North. Take the Q102 Queens Surface bus to Roosevelt Island. Follow signs to Four Freedoms Park.

We want to accommodate as many ADA guests as possible, so if you know that you will need assistance on-site, please contact ADAseating@hillaryclinton.com to make necessary arrangements. ADA guests are welcome to bring one guest with them into the ADA section.

This is going to be a great event and we're thrilled to have you -- one of our best supporters -- there as we launch into the next phase of this campaign.

Thanks,

Hillary for America

I understand the symbolism she's going for with the FDR thing, but this sounds like it has the possibility of blowing up in her face. What if the subway has a hiccup, or people have trouble getting to the tiny island?

Obama did it in downtown Springfield, Il where people could park anywhere and simply hike up to the event. There were no "take the bus to the subway to the special stairs and follow the signs..."

Yes, I realize that I'm obviously a Hillary Hater for questioning the logistics involved, but the more moving parts you have, the more likely one of those vital parts has a problem.

I hope the Dems that vote in the primaries outnumber the repukes 5 to 1 and they go into full "shit their pants" mode as they pick which poor, dumb bastard to send to the slaughter (just like Dole when Clinton ran for re-election).

Four Freedoms Park is not meant for this type of event. It has very limited access and, more important, egress.

The park itself is four acres. Assuming that the four acres are all usable space, which I doubt, the upper safety limit for this size of facility is about 80,000 people standing. And that's being extremely generous. I won't even factor in the staging, other restricted areas, seating for handicapped, dignitaries, etc. However, that assumes sufficient exits -- which there are not. The lower end of the island comes to a point. The park is located on the point. The point sticks into the river. The only real means of egress are to the north -- and the ways off the island entirely are limited -- one subway line and a tram.

Suppose they let 80,000 people in the park -- and shame on FDNY if they do -- and there is some kind of "incident' near the lower end. There would be a rush north. If panic sets in, expect a stampede.

I understand Hillary wanting to don the mantle of the Roosevelts, but I wouldn't go near that event if you paid me.

Not a slam on her. The security is what is driving that. But even if I were a partisan (I am not, and clearly on the other side of the country) I could not attend. Period, end of discussion, full stop.

They might want a doc's note if you want to stroll in with a three course meal. They don't want picnickers, but I'll bet the usual hard candies or glucose tabs are not an issue either.

so he\she\it will win.

So you can leave that partisan crap at the end of the driveway.

I am pointing out that MOST people I know who have a medical condition that is NOT obvious, believe it or not diabetes is not, we do not carry a doctor's note everywhere, nor do we want to bother with it at all times

Now enjoy this. I am sure somebody will make a big deal out of it. I will be at lunch with family and I hope all the talk we have about the race, or politics is zero to none.

I will watch the stream later from the good folks at CSPAN... see really no need to go either... and write the launch story like I have done for every candidate. Perhaps you can tell me, when are the greens launching? Not that I will bother posting ANY OF THAT here. Procedural, as far as we can, none partisan stories are not to the taste of partisans.

I also hope she, or likely her campaign, posts the speech SOMEWHERE, so we can link to the speech.

But you are correct, you got my number... since big money will win... and voting is done just to keep in practice....
