Very very poor decision by Pelosi. This could not only scuttle the president's trade agenda, but permanently kill the TAA program. Republicans will not allow a vote on TAA that is not linked to TPA, this will kill it.

country who are part of this deal, have been opposing it from the beginning. Not so of course, the obscenely wealthy Corporate entities and their lobbyists with their bags of money to try to buy votes in the governments of all the nations involved.

The mystery of the century is why this president has aligned himself with this disaster.

Good for Pelosi, I was afraid she was going to cave.

Scandinavian favorites -- and more ready to sign these agreements when finalized? I guess every one -- some 40-50 governments -- have all been brainwashed by corporations. All of them must have leaders who are just stupid and planning on selling their citizens/working-people into slavery, destroying their health care systems, destroying their domestic corporations, etc..

The agreement will likely still go through, but we won't get all the countries to agree to some of the things that would make it better for us, and the world.

At best, opponents have hurt Obama/our chances of ensuring our future in a global word (whether we like it, or not), by acting like Nationalists, Sovereign Citizens, etc. That's the kind of stuff that starts wars.

Substantially more GOP votes for TAA are not likely.

But it is certainly a fast moving football this afternoon.

Worker re-training got defeated, but fast track passed "narrowly," much like the narrow vote that defeated Amash Conyers. Worst possibly result. If the minority leader really did not want that bill to pass, I don't think it would have passed.

Sorry, Japanese friends, but there's no kabuki like D.C. kabuki. Not as old as yours, but, oh, so subtle and hard to prove, yet sometimes, so obvious.

...funny how, for some, she can't do anything right. Apparently, this is just a ruse to satisfy the 'base' while others vote for the bill; as if the minority leader has perfect control over them.

“If voting against TAA slows down (TPA), I’m prepared to vote against TAA,” she said, hammering the final nail into the bill’s coffin.
