What happens when I "Like" a company on Facebook

I had a chance to enter a contest for a new Laptop, I had to "Like" the Company on FB.
Now, my FB is restricted to only Friends, no Friends of Friends, no outside people or companies see my data.
By "Liking" this Company, do they become my Friend and have access to my Page?
Will I now get posts from them? If so, not worth it.
What exactly does it mean to Like a Company?

1. You will get posts from that company's facebook page,

but they have no access to your facebook page; they are't your "friend" (some businesses can be added as a friend).

3. The "Like" button is meaningless without a "Dislike" as well

And throw in a "Totally Sucks" button while you're at it...

4. Probably some of the same things that happen if you fill out a written contest entry form

Imagine that this is 20 years ago and there was a contest with a prize you desired. To win, you had to fill out a written entry form and give your address, maybe your phone number, and maybe your email. Even if you didn't win, there was a good chance that the information you provided was "mined" -- recorded and then sold to marketers as part of a mailing list or email list or phone list (or all three).

I'm surprised that anyone would think that entering a contest on FB would result in anything less.
