What do you think?
I will post again when they schedule everything.
Hoping all can make it. Maybe we can even get some of the people in surrounding areas to come. Like the Wisconsin people. After all, they need something to celebrate

(17,997 posts)Good thing it's raining or the city would be on fire!
Do we know when the parade is yet?

(3,263 posts)Weds Thurs or Fri- which has less rain predicted?

(17,997 posts)They're going to have a parade, celebration at Grant or millennium park for 3 days! ?

(17,997 posts)I think the tickets are already gone. Maybe this is not a great idea for a meet up. We should do it on a regular weekend.
What do you think?

(3,263 posts)happening around town this summer?. A gotv gig? Or hey just be decadent and meet at a TOC stage
None of the acts at the shell interest me this year but the Bud light stage has many options
Coffee/ tea /juice somewhere to meet up & just to say Hello is good too!
This whole hold it on a rainy day and confine everyone to SF is BS imo. Could have used an area near McCormick that is paved and block it off or something but what do I know

(17,997 posts)June is filled up and I'm moving in August.
I'm good with anywhere. I will try to post something.
When I posted about a get together at the Hawks parade, I hadn't really thought it through. I also didn't think they would pull the stadium stuff . Not sure why they did that.
We can make it about a ton of things. Did you see Rauner already has commercials against Mike Madigan? Never saw a Governor do that before.
And kirk has already started his campaign against Tammy Duckworth.
Or it can be just for fun and to meet each other

(53,339 posts)I won't make the parade, but I'd love to visit aqgain sometime. I still remember sitting on my grandparents' stoop and watching the lights flash at Commiskey when the Sox scored when I was little.
I hope you get some DUers out to meet up and that you have a blast!
marym625
(17,997 posts)Comisky! I miss that park. Got Ron Kittle's autograph there.
Well, when I move to California in august, we'll have a get together there!

(53,339 posts)There was some planning for a state meetup here a few years back, but I think that fell through. Maybe your arrival will fire us up to do a DU meetup here soon. It's a big state and we're flung far and wide but there's really no excuse for not having a CA meetup. And you're going to need to have a housewarming...

(17,997 posts)Sort of between San Francisco and San Jose. But my nieces and nephew live in Torrence so I will be bicity.
Thanks so much. You're just awesome.
I am so excited right now

(53,339 posts)I'm in the North tip of L.A. County, in the high desert Antelope Valley (Lancaster/Palmdale).
Welcome to the neighborhood!

(17,997 posts)I used to live in Harbor City and worked in Manhattan Beach at the Steel Workers Union.
My ex sister in law, who passed away last April at the age of 49, lived in Lancaster for years. Been there often.
So excited! What a great new neighbor to have!

(8,646 posts)to say congrats. I haven't been following as closely as I used to (Oilers fan here, LOL. It's been awhile. I was more interested in the draft lottery this year than the playoffs) but it's nice to see a team win a few cups in a short period of time. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your parade!

(17,997 posts)This town really supports our teams. And the Hawks have been our crown and glory for years now.
Btw, first win at home since the 1930s! As bad as it is that it's storming on and off, I bet the cops are glad.

(8,646 posts)And yes, I bet the cops are.

(17,997 posts)Even tornado warnings while people were outside waiting to get into the game. Pouring rain, warning signs going off and doors locked.
They finally opened the doors and let every soaking one in.
So I am guessing that stuff will be minimal

(1,186 posts)I guess I'll have to take an early and extended lunch and stroll on down to Monroe street to watch the cup roll by. Don't tell my boss.

(17,997 posts)My team received an email from our VP. It was a mandatory 10am meeting at Washington and LaSalle.
Looks like trying to get together during this madness was a bad idea. But now that I know so many of us are so close, we will have to have a DU Chicago meet up this summer!
Enjoy! And I promise I won't tell your boss!
