Jon has nothing. He has no monologue because he couldn't be funny after the church massacre.

He's speaking off the cuff as it comes to him commenting on the events of last night in Charleston.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala is Jon's guest for the rest of the show.

He is barely holding it together. He wants to bawl. And so do I want to bawl with him. nt ChisolmTrailDem Jun 2015 #2

I was moved by the emotion he was choking back. You can tell he is weary of these stories. nt ChisolmTrailDem Jun 2015 #4

Except I think it is the best statement that has been made.

If you missed it, catch the repeat or find it when it's available on line.

Spoke from his heart and nailed it. Then went on to introduce Malala who could teach us all a thing or two about grace, dignity and tolerance. Jon, you will be sorely missed.

He is simply the best American TV has to offer. While the other outlets were treating this like another "event" to be covered, Jon decided there was no point in going on. Just put the brakes on, and really really feel the sorrow and grief and madness that is our country right now.
