Sanders campaign has 7,000 RSVPs- so far- for his Denever rally on Saturday

<snip>

On Saturday, Sanders is scheduled to hold an event in Denver, where campaign officials said they already have received about 7,000 RSVPs. If they all show up, it would be perhaps the largest rally any candidate in either party has staged thus far in the 2016 campaign cycle.

Clinton supporters keep pointing out that the enthusiastic crowds that Bernie is attracting don't mean much. They certainly have a point in that crowds don't necessarily translate into votes, but they're way off base in another sense. Bernie's message is resonating and I think it's clear that he's attracting people who are alienated from our political process as well as dems. That's a good thing.

All in all, whatever happens, Bernie is good for the country and good for the Democratic Party. He's forcing a discussion that we need to have about our fragile democracy.

In Vegas this morning, He attracted hundred at 9:00 am and they were on their feet cheering multiple times. He's saying things that people have been thinking about our government. There's a reason Congress is so despised- and really, it goes beyond being unpopular.

Elected Democrats need to listen. They need to listen not only to Bernie, but to the cheers of the crowds listening to him. They're saying something.

Democratic aren't the only ones who need to listen; the MSM does too.

Certainly, Bernie will not be silent about it.

(following the linked article)

Only 33 million of 207 million eligible voted last primary. If Bernie supporters turn out to be the candidate for the disenfranchised that have lost interest for years, yes he could do something. He would win in a landslide if 1/5 of these people came out. Of course they will need to figure out how to register and where and when to vote.

I urge all Sanders supporters, when talking him up to friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc., to remind people they have to be currently registered at their present address to vote. I've gotten voter registration forms from my library and also my country election office. I give them to people and urge them to register now, so that as they learn more about what Bernie stands for, and should they be persuaded to vote for Bernie, they'll be cleared to do so. And allow for the difference among states. In Pennsylvania, you have to be a registered Democrat - not a Republican, Independent or any other party - to vote in the state primary for Bernie. Other states may allow crossover voting. And if there's any chance they will be away from home on election day, explain to them how to request an absentee ballot, i.e, you have to request, receive, fill out and return a request-for-absentee-ballot-form, to then receive an absentee ballot.

Like I've said before, people very much appreciate the courtesy of being asked for their vote. So start asking!

It would feel like magic if those who hold democratic aspirations in their hearts would suddenly stop participating in their own abasement and turn to collective action. We are legion, but alone.

be sure to get there as early as you can. Overflow capacity is to 5500-6000. At this rate, they need to start booking bigger venues!!!!

Which is a massive number of people. If he can get them interested in participating in the primaries and the general, that's a huge big wow and many good surprises could be in store.

He just may end up with a good portion of the base, independents and the waking noobs.

People have been so turned off by politics as usual, Bernie is such a breath of fresh air. He has an incredible uphill battle to fight and I'll be supporting him, including financially, all the way.

All I can say is, if Bernie does get enough momentum where it looks like he can win, he'd better stay out of small airplanes. The PTB will not take him lightly.

I was devastated to learn that a concert I'd bought a ticket for a 1000-capacity club had been cancelled. But then it was announced that the show sold out so quickly, it was moved to a 4000-seat venue the following week, though refunds were available.

crowds mean way more than "don't mean much"; WAY more. I'll go out on that limb right now and predict that these crowds WILL translate to votes for Bernie. This isn't just a "fling" with Bernie as per Axelrod; long time republican friends here in our neck of the woods, and I mean LLLLOOOONNNNGGG time republicans, are even talking Bernie....he's an "independent you know" I have heard many times now. I remind them he is running as a Democrat against Hillary, and then encourage their political prowess for "discovering" Bernie. Yep, I think Ol' Bern has a pretty darn good chance to take this thing...and take it big.

to start working in the interest of the people once again? The corporate owners aren't going to do away with the media, so I say screw the corporate owners and get back to the mission of serving the public by asking hard questions and delivering truth to the news seeker.
