WalMart removes confederate flag items from stores

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/06/23/as-walmart-goes-so-goes-the-nation-or-vice-versa/

On Monday, the company took another step into the politically and emotionally charged arena of America’s culture wars.

In a single sweeping move, it eliminated all Confederate flag-adorned items from its Web site: A tee shirt emblazoned with the blue, red and gray banner and the words “Rebel Firefighter.” A belt buckle bearing the flag and the term “Country Girl.” Towels. Bandannas. Swimsuits. And flags, of course. Plenty of them.

“We never want to offend anyone with the products that we offer,” spokesman Brian Nick wrote in an e-mailed statement. “We have taken steps to remove all items promoting the confederate flag from our assortment — whether in our stores or on our web site.”

If they keep this up, I may start shopping there again.

Of course, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this is also millions of dollars worth of positive publicity. Anyone above inchworm in media will commend them for this. Even Joe Scarborough, who was talking out of both sides of his mouth about the confederate flag this morning.

Apparently, it meant nothing that he had one in his college room "to stick it to the North." Gee, Joe, stick it to the North, aka the Union, aka The United States of America, for doing what, exactly? Fighting a war over extending slavery to the territories? Sure, Joe, what kind of POS of a human being could possibly fault you for that?

Does anyone at MSNBC actually hear him?

That is some great American pride he has going there. True patriot that he is.

yeah, this news from Wally World is a nice shocker. It also makes me wonder what on in private with Trikki Nikki. She supported the flag 100% until yesterday.

I say let the racists fly their flag on their own house, not on mine.
