A mailer from Senator Franken

I love the optimism... and yes Al, I can.

Mark --

National Journal conducted a poll of “political insiders.” It had only one question: Will Democrats win back the Senate majority in 2016?

Here are a few answers:

"Just by the hair on our chinny chin chins."

"Would have checked 'maybe' if that option were included. Yes, they can do it but won't be easy."

Both fairly good answers, but neither are completely accurate. The real answer is: Democrats can and will win back the Senate, as long as grassroots networks like Midwest Values PAC pitch in.

Through MVP, we can help Democrats in tough races win seats against the special interests. Can you help raise $10,000 by the end of the quarter with a $5 contribution today

Or donate another amount.

One insider said the GOP will be “vicious.” They forgot, this isn’t just about the GOP.

The special interests will be vicious, too. The Koch brothers network is going to spend $889 million. Karl Rove’s got double the number of outside groups he had last election ready and raring to go.

Democrats aren’t just against the GOP -- we’re up against the Citizens United-fueled spending of outside groups.

If Democrats are going to take back the Senate, our MVPs need to know we’re on their side. Give $5, $10, anything you can afford to support our MVPs and help us retake the Senate in 2016.

Thank you.

Al

P.S. What the “political insiders” failed to mention in their responses was the effect my patented P.S. ask would have on 2016 -- adding in that all-important extra ask to donate $5 right now.

I will not support any Democrat who voted for TPA and will vote for Fast Track. We might as well have real Republicans than Democrats in name only.
