1. As opposed to sitting on him until he couldn't get his breath
or throwing him in the pack of the paddy wagon with no seat belts. I would have told him to get used to doing without.

3. But that is SOP per many here at DU, sure it is, right!
Hey, if a Black man had just shot and killed 9 white people because they were white, they would not have gone to Burger King, or anywhere, said Black man would have been shot dead at the scene of capture.

13. I agree with you
completely. The difference between how the police treat people of color and white people has been made painfully obvious to me. I've been hearing apologists in real life for Roof, saying the poor "child" is mentally ill. My question is would they say this about a black 21 year old? My guess is no.

15. Not only wont say it about them, but when they slaughtered a 12 yr old playing with a play
gun, they EXCUSED that as well.
I am so tired of talking about this, we know who the racists are, lots of them everywhere, by the way. |

16. Tamir Rice
That is the worst. If there is no justice in that case, where is justice?

4. Did you ever stop to consider that perhaps the police did this
As a means to connect to the little dirt bag so as to obtain information? Perhaps he didn't act alone? Perhaps there were others? Perhaps there was important information they could have provided? This is a fairly common tactic. I am not apologizing for police abuse but providing burger king is not condemning in itself in my opinion.

7. That is exactly why they did it
But outrage is fun too.

8. Oh I get the outrage
I just don't understand why people allow emotionalism to destroy all objective thought and reason.

But thanks for the concern.

9. How do you know what their motive was.
Maybe they were hungry and couldn't wait until they got him booked. I would go further than I did and venture to say if he had been black, he might have been shot on sight, whether he had any information they could gain or not. They would have feared for their lives perhaps or he would have been reaching for his waistband, or something.

5. Have you ever eaten at a Burger King?
Famous in our area for late-night drunk runs. Poor kid (being sarcastic here folks).

10. Yes
but not lately. All the grease in fast food makes me sick. I was sorta hoping Roof might have fared like Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon said you always fared at the drive through.

11. I missed your thread.
And I'm in desperate need of attention.
