BREAKING NEWS: Canada's Bill C-51 just received 'Royal Assent' from Governor General. Effective immediately any form of dissent that is not in line with mainstream or causes a negative impact on Canada's economy can be deemed as an act of terrorism.

While I cannot find that specific language above it does seem like it is in the parameters of this law.

You guys down south should take this as a lesson, never let the government exploit a tragedy to pass a bill. If you need to be starving to eat the burrito in your fridge, you need to throw it out.

Hopefully we don't re-elect the idiots again in October

way of oil pipeline expansion to the West Coast.

It will be challenged in court and it will fail that challenge.

Right now there is a growing movement among Harper's caucus that see the handwriting on the wall and are choosing not to run again in order to spend more time with their families.

It looks like this is Harper's parting FU to the Canadian people.

The Bill C-51 does suck, though. It tramples privacy rights and free speech rights in Canada. "Advocating or promoting terrorism" is criminalized, and given the vagueness there, that is a very dangerous limitation of free speech. I am glad we have the first amendment here.

ripe for abuse which the current government would have no problem with. Canada has an election this October and may well throw these assholes out, their poll numbers are not very good but Canadians are going to have to avoid splitting their vote between the two major left parties to get the Cons out.
