(22,000 posts)Rachel Maddow was saying that there is a prevision that allows the flag to be taken down temporarily for maintenance. The right thing to do would be to remove it in the middle of the night before Senator Pinckney's funeral and then put it back up the next morning. The only reason I say put it back up is because South Carolina needs to properly debate the removal and vote on it so that when people start screaming bloody murder about it (which we know they will) that the removal was done according to the law.

(269,056 posts)I was hoping for an attention seeking ReTHUG to send a crane up today and pull it down for cleaning and repairs (as Rachel mentioned while discussing the loophole).

(269,056 posts)I don't think the seriousness of this massacre of a sitting Senator and eight others has sunk in yet.
This was racist terrorism on steroids and many of the links to the CCC and ReTHUGs were exposed.
