they'd reconsider voter id laws.
This is just not the South, of course, but if the mass of jokers who say there's no such thing as racism or white privilege, or who say that the white supremacists are a fringe minority, want to be seen as serious, they'd immediately and publically rethink their voter id laws!
Let's not let them get away with simply removing the flag. Let's challenge them on this.
(It's not that removing the flag is simply cosmetic, but changing voter-id laws is clearly substantive.)

-consider not putting people in jail for non-violent crimes like drug possession
-spend more on at risk youth than on institutionalizing at risk youth
there are probably a hundred things that could be done differently. But, it's easier to hate people and create conditions where they will lash out or do other things that might not be socially acceptable that will land them in jail.
