NYT: Since 9/11-Nearly 2x as many people killed by WHITE SUPREMACISTS, ANTI-GOV FANATICS, NON-MUSLIM

New York Times: “Since Sept. 11, 2001, nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims: 48 have been killed by extremists who are not Muslim, compared with 26 by self-proclaimed jihadists, according to a count by New America, a Washington research center.

This comment on Fox News, if it's not him, I would really be surprised. "j adkisson" has never posted anything since, he never denied it, same name, etc. While Roof murdered for racist reasons, Adkisson murdered to get at those liberals. But there seems to be a parallel between them.

Yes 26 killings in 14 years is a fleabite, and yes broadbrushing all the millions of US Muslims as potential terrorists is lunacy.

But Muslims are 0.8% of the US population. If they are guilty of 35% of terrorism related US deaths that's a hugely skewed contribution. Even if we assume we are missing some terrorism deaths in the mix and that 35% goes down, there are clearly way more than 1.6% of the population who are right-wing anti-government racists, so that 26:48 ratio still speaks horribly of the different rate of terrorism from Muslims even when compared to the vilest section of the far right.

Of course the math works the other way too. .8% of the population is about 2.5 million people. Worrying about a couple of deaths a year from a population that size as anything other than discrete acts of criminality is rather exaggerated.
