DU and Firefox browser, is anyone having this problem...

Suddenly my Firefox browser is warning me that DU is trying to redirect me to another page and it's annoying as hell. Here is what the warning says:

"Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page."

I haven't changed any settings and I think there was a recent Firefox update but not sure if it this issue corresponded with that update.

Is this happening to others on DU? Please, how do I stop it??

I don't use Firefox, but you can probably configure it to stop this warning.

mainly when posting or on juries. I just click "allow" and haven't investigated it much. Happens every so often on other sites, too.

I suspect it has something to do with ads and the insane way websites are created these days.

I don't see any ads either.

During the setup, check everything. Some videos will stop loading but you can fix that by allowing certain cookies and stuff when that happens.
Well worth the effort.

Firefox has a way of picking up unwanted add-ons unless you are a computer guru who knows how to stop them.

Another possibility would be to change browsers. (Although Firefox has some good virtues)

Firefox has some problems with DU (primarily slow loading), but no redirects yet.

Many sites redirect you to new pages, but do it silently. Firefox does that too, unless you click on the setup box that tells Firefox to warn you before redirecting. Then it asks your permission to redirect you.

It is in your settings. Firefox always asks me if I want to go to the new page that usually loads automatically because I told it to ask me.

It happens to me, usually when I log on to DU, before it takes me to my forum. Or when I post a reply to someone, before it reloads the page with the topic I posted on. If I don't accept those on DU, the pages I want don't load, so on DU I just say yes. Nothing nefarious here among friends.

To stop the warnings, go to Options, General, Advanced. Unclick the box beside "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page."

Then the pages will load silently. You probably inadvertently clicked on it sometime.

I checked it to get the warning because there are many programs/sites out there that may automatically send you who knows where! You'd be amazed how many times I'm warned about redirection at commercial sites like Google, Ancestry.com, and many others. I just say no and go right on.
