Electronic Vote Fraud: A Real Threat to any Democrat Running for President...Truthout

By Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman, Truthout | News Analysis

The way our electoral process now stands, electronic voting machines guarantee a Republican victory in 2016.

No matter what she does, Hillary Clinton - or any other Democratic nominee - cannot be elected without a fundamental change in the basic mechanics of how our votes are cast and counted.

It is a profoundly disturbing reality that casts a long shadow over all that's wrong with our electoral system, no matter who one favors for public office. Just 15 years after the theft of the 2000 election, the Democrats have finally begun to talk about voter rights and various methods to guarantee public access to the polls.

But for a non-Republican to win the White House in 2016, one of two virtually impossible things must happen: The Democrat must win by absolutely indisputable margins far beyond simple majorities - 10 percent or more - in the key states whose electronic tallies will swing the Electoral College.

See, this is why we need voter ID. Because the Democrats might pick up four votes from individuals who misrepresent themselves at the polls, while Republicans add thousands of votes by buying the companies that make electronic voting machines. That's unfair. The Democrats should not get those votes for free. They should have to pay for their fraudulent votes, just like the Republicans.

just enough to swing the votes at a local/ county/district/ level.

These days they pretty much know who votes, who never does, who never registered and where everyone lives.

For example, Assisted living places & nursing homes house thousands of people across America who can be exploited for a "vote". They would never know their 'assisted vote' was changed or someone else voted by mail for them.

For some corrupt reason, the Democratic leadership has elected to ignore the reality of digital election fraud for 15 years.

Thank you for the heads-up, Stuart G!

Your Welcome. I think that the Republicans will try to steal the election, through the voting machines, no matter who is nominated by us. Also, they will do everything to limit the vote. From IDs to awful times of voting to fewer voting locals in strongly democratic areas, they will do everything and anything to steal the election

No matter who, they do not want any democrat who might get in the way of their racist and hatred of the middle class and poor agenda..I don't think they have even recognized what they did in the past 15 years.

They'll take away our sovereignty with the TPP, but if we just GOTV for Bernie we'll win! It's all on us! The pols are crooked every other way and attempt all the other kinds of voter suppression but would NEVER rig the machines...

This same electronic voting machines somehow gave us a Democratic President in 2008 and 2012. Maybe they lost the manual?

For the nth time, no Democratic candidate, or campaign manager or Party official has said their loss was do to electronic vote tampering.

"In 2008 and 2012, Barack Obama won by big enough margins to get him by. Thousands of volunteers inundated ballot centers to monitor what was going on. Without them, John McCain and Mitt Romney would have become president."

Just because the Democrats have not acknowledged the problem doesn't mean it's not there...

Are you saying he "wanted" to lose?

Did Ted Strickland "want" to lose?

Are you saying Sherrod Brown's daughter, the former Ohio Democratic Party Director, "wanted" them both to lose?

And all the Campaign Managers, whose future job prospects depend on a winning record, "wanted" to lose?

The problem is that people here don't understand what her job is...

1. Raise lots of money

2. Help organize State Party structures

3. Manage the Democratic National Committee on big ticket items like Presidential Primary rules and Convention Planning

and what does this have to do with allegations of electronic vote-switching?

Her job is to provide the money to help win the House and Senate, and to build robust State Parties to turn out the votes needed, but winning the House and Senate are the job of the DCCC and DSCCC respectively.

Thie possibility of voter fraud is one of the reasons I am opposed to ele tronic voting. I believe in paper ballots filled on at the polls on election day whenever possible. Call me old-fashioned.
